As of 2019, a standard five-year passport is $120 and a 10-year passport is $160. A child's passport (0-15 years of age) is $57. Just remember you're stuck with your passport photo for 10 whole years if you opt for a 10-year Canadian passport!
The cost for an adult passport book is $110 plus a $25 processing/acceptance fee; the adult passport card is $30 plus a $25 processing fee. Both are good for ten years. The cost for a minor's passport book is $80 plus a $25 processing/acceptance fee; the minor passport card is $15 plus a $25 processing fee.

All non-simplified passport applications require a guarantor who has known the applicant personally for at least two years. If the passport application is for a child, the guarantor must have known the parent (applicant) for at least two years.
If you need help to complete the form, someone else can fill it in for you. This person must be 18 years of age or older. It can be a family member or someone you trust. If you're applying in person at a Passport service location, you may have this person accompany you to make sure you get the help you need.
If you have never had a United Kingdom passport, but you were born in the UK or one of your parents was a British citizen at the time of your birth, you can apply for your first British passport at any time. The UK recognises dual citizenship, so you can carry both a British and a Canadian passport.

Contact one of the Canadian Vital Statistics offices to get a copy of your birth certificate. If you were born in Canada proof of Canadian citizenship for passport applications include: birth certificate issued by the province or the territory of your birth.
Entry into Canada: Canadian law requires that all persons entering Canada carry both proof of citizenship and proof of identity. A valid U.S. passport, passport card, or NEXUS card satisfies these requirements for U.S. citizens. Children under 16 need only present proof of U.S. citizenship.
