Photos taken on Camera (the standard Android app) are stored on either a memory card or in phone memory depending on the settings of the phone. The location of photos is always the same - it's the DCIM/Camera folder. The full path looks like this: /storage/emmc/DCIM - if the images are on the phone memory.
It was previously going to end the paid storage plan, Gallery Sync and Drive on August 21, 2021. That's no longer the case. So it's giving them more time until November 30, 2021. Microsoft's OneDrive is the alternative that Samsung is suggesting.
Like most computer, Android does come with a “Downloads” folder to store all your downloaded files. If you've been using Android for years, this should be obvious to you. To access the Downloads folder, launch the default File Manager app and towards the top, you'll see the “Download history” option.
It works the same way as the above mentioned YouTube Downloader Mac.
- Install Wise Video Downloader on your PC.
- Copy the URL of the video that you'd like to save to your Samsung Galaxy Tab and paste it at the URL box of the software.
- Choose output format and quality. The final step is to click the download button.

How to manage storage on WhatsApp (Android)
- Open the WhatsApp app.
- Tap on the three-dotted menu situated in the top right corner.
- Seelct the Settings option.
- Once you are on the Settings menu, select the Storage and Data option.
If you use a Samsung phone, you might have Samsung Cloud backup enabled on your device. In this case, you can see if your photos are located in your backup. On your device, go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Backup and restore. Tap the Restore data option.
Pictures can be stored on the internal memory (ROM) or SD card. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
Saving videos and imagesOn the Samsung Gear 360 app or the Gear 360 app screen, tap Gallery, GEAR 360, select videos and images to save, and then tap Save. The videos and images will be saved in your phone. You can view the saved files in PHONE.
First, connect your phone to a PC with a USB cable that can transfer files.
- Turn your phone on and unlock it. Your PC can't find the device if the device is locked.
- On your PC, select the Start button and then select Photos to open the Photos app.
- Select Import > From a USB device, then follow the instructions.

- Select your "SD Card", then tap the “three-dot menu“ (top-right), now select “Settings” from in there.
- Now select “Format as internal”, and then “Erase & Format”.
- Your SD Card will now be formatted as internal storage.
- Reboot your tablet.
To create a folder, follow these steps:
- On the Home screen, touch the Menu button.
- Choose Create Folder.
- Type a name for the folder. Be short and descriptive.
- Touch the OK button to create the newly named folder. The folder is created, but it's empty.
- Drag icons into the folder.
You can find almost all the files on your smartphone in the My Files app. By default, this will appear in the folder named Samsung. If you are having trouble finding the My Files app, you should try using the search feature. To begin, swipe up on your home screen to see your apps.
Android phones will open most MP4 files in their default media player app, and these are generally movie or music files. Some MP4 files won't open, though.
To locate the saved videos, go to the home page of YouTube. Once you're on the home page, click the Account tab (the one the right-most corner that looks like a human body). You will find Saved videos on this page.
DCIM is short for “Digital Camera Images.†DCIM is a folder that is automatically created on the SD card by your camera. The camera use the DCIM folder to store the videos and photos captured by the camera.
Open your Facebook app on your Android or iPhone. Click on the burger icon on the right corner of your screen to get the Facebook menu. On the menu option, tap the “Saved” button which has a pink and purple ribbon icon next to it. To find a specific video, click on “See All” under the most recent saved videos.
Start the Gallery app by locating its icon. It might be on the Home screen directly or in a folder. And it can always be found in the apps drawer. How the Gallery looks varies from phone to phone, but generally the images are organized by albums.
Save a Picture / Video Message - Android™ Smartphone
- From the text messaging inbox, tap the message containing the picture or video.
- Touch and hold the image.
- Select a save option (e.g., Save attachment, Save to SD card, etc.).
On your phone, you can usually find your files
in the Files app . If you can't find the Files app, your device manufacturer might have a different app.
Find & open files
- Open your phone's Files app . Learn where to find your apps.
- Your downloaded files will show. To find other files, tap Menu .
- To open a file, tap it.
With a USB cable, connect your phone to your computer. On your phone, tap the "Charging this device via USB" notification. Under "Use USB for," select File Transfer. An Android File Transfer window will open on your computer.
