Using Matlab for scientific purposes costs about the half. If X is smaller than the costs of MATLAB, MATLAB is expensive. If X is about 10 times the costs of MATLAB, MATLAB is getting very cheap, because its very powerful and well tested toolboxes allows a rapid prototyping, implementation and testing of the program.
Beautiful programming language.In my opinion, the python programming language is easier to read and to program than the Matlab programming language. The reason, I think, is because Python was created with the goal of making a beautiful programming language, while Matlab started as a Matrix manipulation package.

MATLAB: Download & Installation for Windows (Students)

Mathworks has never offered a free version. Mathworks has offered some individual MATLAB licenses as prizes for occasional contests. Mathworks has historically (and perhaps might still) offered 8 month or 1 year student licenses, but those had to be paid for.
Matlab is easy to learn. The syntax is forgiving, the development environment helps you find errors, etc.

MATLAB Drive Connector supports the same operating systems as the latest version of MATLAB. It requires only a small amount of RAM and disk space. MATLAB Drive Connector does not require MATLAB. However, it integrates with MATLAB R2017a and onwards if installed.

From your figure, select File->Save as and choose a file type in the dialog. If you need to save your figure programmatically, the PRINT command has options to choose a file type (such as the -djpeg flag for JPG format).
To open MATLAB Drive online, in your web browser, navigate to MATLAB Drive and sign in with your MathWorks® credentials. You also can open MATLAB Drive online from within the Connector by clicking the MATLAB Drive online button.
Install the MATLAB Runtime InteractivelyUnzip/Extract the archive containing the MATLAB Runtime installer. Unzip the MATLAB Runtime installer. To unzip the installer: Right click the zip file MATLAB_Runtime_R2020b_win64.
To download Matlab for Windows Click Here. Extract the zipped file of Matlab R2014a to Local Drive (e.g. "D:") and run the setup from the extracted folder. Click On "Use a File Installation Key" & hit the "Next" button. Click on "Yes" to accept the license agreement & hit the "Next" button.

MATLAB R2015a and later is supported on Windows 10. Earlier releases of MATLAB are not supported and are not guaranteed to work on Windows 10. MathWorks does not currently distinguish between builds or branches of Windows 10 from a system requirements standpoint.
