The return of Rama to Ayodhya was celebrated with his coronation. In these revisions, the death of Sita leads Rama to drown himself. Through death, he joins her in afterlife. Rama dying by drowning himself is found in the Myanmar version of Rama's life story called Thiri Rama.
When Ravana has once performed a 'Homa' (sacrifice) to please Lord Shiva in the want of ultimate powers, he had beheaded himself to satisfy lord Shiva but surprisingly his head was back in place again. Hence Raavan was also called as Dasamukha (10 faced) or Dasakantha (10 throated) or Dasagriva (10 headed).
Sita became pregnant when Ram was of ~39 years of age.
“In the actual Ramayan- its said that Sita was kidnapped somewhere in the 10th year of the exile and the search for Sita, going to Lanka, fighting the war and killing Ravana took atleast another 2.5- 3 years. By the time it was over it was 13 years completed.
If Ravana wanted to take revenge for his sister he would have taken his army to forest and attacked Rama. Instead he went in disguise like a Rishi and kidnapped Sita maatha like a coward when Rama was not present.
Mandodari (Sanskrit: मंदोदरी, Mandodarī, lit. "soft-bellied";) was the queen consort of Ravana, the king of Lanka, according to the Hindu epic Ramayana. According to some Ramayana adaptations, Mandodari is also the mother of Rama's wife Sita, who is infamously kidnapped by Ravana.
The second and lesser known truth about the banishment of Sita is not known to many people although the story is mentioned in the scriptures. The reason that Rama had to be separated from Sita was to fulfill a curse that was given to him!
As Ravana let out blood-curling screams in agony, he came to be known as Ravana (one who screams). It was then that Ravana became one of the greatest devotees of Lord Shiva, and composed the Shiva Tandava Stotram. 3. In Lanka, a demoness, called Lankini beat Hanuman. Hanuman retaliated by beating her very gently, and Lankini was killed by that slap. In the throes of death, she recalled a prediction, which said that she would be killed by a monkey and that when that happened it was a signal that there would be danger to the demons.
Ravana said at the time of death that, "Do not enmity with your charioteer, concierge, and brother.They can cause harm anytime.Don't make the mistake of always thinking of yourself as a winner, even if you win every time".
At what age Ravana died? At the time of war Rama killed Ravana by the end of 14 years and returned back to Ayodha directly from Lanka on Pushpaka. So by the time Rama killed Ravana, he would be at 42 years old.
As he saw the beautiful girl Vedavati sitting peacefully in deep meditation, he was mesmerized by her beauty. This act of Ravana enraged the girl, and she cut off her hair. She cursed him for attacking her chastity, saying that one day she will become the reason for his destruction.
Ravan performed a yagya for Ram.But the biggest bhakt of Shiva in the entire region was Ravan, and since he was half-brahman, he was also the best qualified to perform the yagya.
What happens to Ravana's body after his death? He is buried with full honors. Rama orders a proper burial.
