Re: Creating outlines from type
If you highlight the text the Create Outlines menu will be grayed out. If you select the type with one of the object Selection tool the Create Outlines menu will be available. You have two basic methods: straight filing and draw filing. Here's the difference between the two: Straight Filing: The first and most basic filing technique is called straight-filing, and involves pushing the file lengthwise across the work, making contact only on the forward stroke.
Grade or cut - files are graded according to the size and spacing of cutting teeth. There are three standard cuts in regular use: bastard - is a course file for roughing down work to a general shape where a good finish is not required.
a file is a named collection of information that is recorded on some kind of storage device, while a document is a type of file that has been created by a particular software application, and can be manipulated by that application (e.g. a word processing document).
Files are classified according to their cross-sectional shapes, the form of the cutting edges, and the coarseness of the cut (i.e., the number of teeth per inch or centimetre). Rasp files, or rasps, are usually very coarse and are used primarily on wood and soft materials.
A collection of data or information that has a name, called the filename. There are many different types of files: data files, text files , program files, directory files, and so on. Different types of files store different types of information. For example, program files store programs, whereas text files store text.
the most common types of files you'll see are flat files half-round files round files which are round. but also tapered towards the end hand files which are square and straight in every dimension triangular files which are triangular in cross-section.
Hand files are used in the workshop to smooth rough edges. They can be used to smooth a range of materials including metals such as brass and steel to wood based materials such as MDF.
First, a file is like a saw blade and only cuts in one direction. The second reason filing back and forth is not wise is that it will clog the file and become less efficient. When a file is pushed forward the cut material collects between the teeth of the file.
6 Different Types of Files and How to Use Them
- JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
- PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
- GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
- PDF (Portable Document Format)
- SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)
- MP4 (Moving Picture Experts Group)
Files are classified according to their length, section / shape and cut (tooth shape). HAND FILE: Used for general filing of metals such as steel. They are rectangular in section and are the most common type of file used in workshops. HALF ROUND FILE: Used for filing curved surfaces.
