How to Enable and/or Disable
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click Tools from the top menu bar and then select InternetOptions.
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Enable/Disable button.
- Enter the Content Advisor password.
Description. Content Advisor is a feature inInternet Explorer that allows supervisors to restrict theweb sites that the users can browse. The supervisor can set apassword in order to prevent from other users from changingthe Content Advisor properties.
Content Advisor is the inbuilt feature ofInternet Explorer that allows you to view the content acrossthe web. It is a tool for controlling the types of contentthat your computer can access on the Internet. After you turn onContent Advisor, only rated content that meets orexceeds your criteria can be viewed.
Password Protecting Internet Explorer:
- In the Internet Explorer, Click on the Tools > InternetOptions > Content tab.
- Enable the Content Advisor. Click OK.
- After this next step is to set the password. To do so, click onSettings > General tab in the Content Advisor.
- Click on Change Password and Choose a password.
To delete individual passwords:
- Open the Tools menu.
- Select Internet Options.
- Click Content.
- Under AutoComplete, click Settings.
- Click on Manage Passwords.
- Click on the Web Credentials Manager.
- Click on the drop down arrow by the web site you want to removethe password.
- Click on Remove.
In the Programs and Features section on the Programsscreen, click the “Turn Windows features on oroff” link. The Windows Features dialog box displays.Uncheck the “Internet Explorer 11” box. InWindows 7, you may have a different version of InternetExplorer installed.
Steps
- Open Internet Explorer.
- From the top menu, choose "Tools".
- Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down list.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Click on "Restricted Sites".
- Find the site that you want unblocked.
- Highlight the site and click "Remove".
- Note: This method won't work if the "Internet Options" buttonlocked.

- Click the Privacy tab.
- Check or uncheck Turn on Pop-up Blocker. Note: To accessadvanced features, in the "Pop-up Blocker" section, clickSettings
Click the 3 horizontal lines icon on the far right ofthe Address bar. Click on Settings, scroll to the bottom and clickthe Show Advanced Settings link. Click the Security tab >Trusted Sites icon, then click Sites. Enter the URLof your Trusted Site, then click Add.
To turn Pop-up Blocker on or off
- Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button , and thenselect Internet options.
- On the Privacy tab, under Pop-up Blocker, select or clear theTurn on Pop-up Blocker check box, and then select OK.
Follow these steps to adjust these settings:
- Within Internet Explorer, go to Tools > InternetOptions.
- Select the Security tab.
- Click Custom level.
- From the Security tab, click Default level, and drag the slidercontrol up to High.
- Click Trusted sites to set security zone for sites that youthink are safe to visit.
Open your computer firewall to unblockprevious connections. Click on the "Start menu" of yourcomputer and select "Control Panel." Highlight the Securitytab and select "Allow a program through Windows Firewall." Checkthe connection in the "Exception" box tounblock.
A pop-up blocker is software that preventspop-up windows from appearing on a website. Somepop-up blockers work by immediately closing thepop-up window, while others disable the command thatcalls the pop-up window. Most browser software allowsthe user to turn the blocker on or off.
How To Allow Blocked Content on Internet Explorer
- From Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu, then theOptions
- In the Internet Options dialog, select the Advanced tab
- Scroll down until you see the Security options. Enable thecheckbox "Allow active content to run in files on MyComputer".
- Close the dialog, and quit Internet Explorer.
Access the Chrome menu by clicking the Customizeand control Google Chrome button at the top-right corner ofthe Chrome program window. Select More tools and thenExtensions in the menu. On the Block Site Options page,enter the website you want to block in the text boxnext to the Add page button.
How to Block Any Website On Browser Level
- Open the browser and go to Tools (alt+x) > Internet Options.Now click the security tab and then click the red Restricted sitesicon.
- Now in the pop-up, manually type the websites you want to blockone-by-one. Click Add after typing the name of each site.

- Click + ADD TO CHROME. It's a blue button in the top-rightcorner of the Block Site window.
- Click Add extension when prompted.
- Refresh Chrome.
- Click the Block Site icon.
- Click Options.
- Click Close.
- Press Alt+X or Tools in internet explorer.
- Press Advanced tab and unchecked the 'Warn about certificateaddress mismatch' option.
- Press Apply and OK.
- Restart the computer.
