There is no way of transferring recordings from one SKYQ box to another!
Stream directly from YouTube to your Sky Q box by pressing the Home button on your remote, and going to Online Video > Apps > YouTube. You can either log in with your YouTube account, or if your mobile/tablet is on the same network, your Sky Q box should appear as a casting option within the YouTube app.
The new generation of Freesat receivers are designed to work from the same Wideband LNB that your Sky Q receiver required, so you would not have to change anything on the dish.
Re: Connect Minibox to range extenderYes but the mini doesn't connect to your wifi, it connects wirelessly to the main Sky Q box, so you'd need to connect the mini to the TP Link by ethernet cable provided the TP Link has an ethernet port.
Press SKY button, DOWN to Manage, RIGHT to Disk Space, RIGHT to the list of recordings, navigate to the series, SELECT to get the list of episodes, and use the LOCK or KEEP option.
Mar 5, 2013. You can connect a Sky machine to any video recording machine, usually by Scart, play any programme from the Planner, and have the machine record it. The Sky Copy function is for selecting more than one programme to be played and recorded in succession.

One of the Sky Q system's biggest talents is that you can watch your content in different rooms and on different devices. The Sky Q Mini box doesn't need to be connected to your satellite dish, it works wirelessly (or through powerline connectivity) so is a perfect bedroom solution.
Re: Does SkyQ use same wires as Sky+ from box to dish? Yes they will use the existing cables if they are in a good serviceable condition.
Re: Does sky q work without internet? Q will function for live television viewing and Recordings playback without internet access, but Mini boxes will typically cease to function after a period of time if an internet router isn't present to re-allocate IP addresses.
Self install is not available on the Sky Q 1TB or Sky Q 2TB boxes at the moment.
Re: Sky Q upgrade with own dish@Brian+Ellis Yes no Q box will work without the LNB being changed.
Sky Q really shows its worth when you add in extra devices, including Mini boxes that you plug into other TVs in your home. These stream live channels, on-demand TV and recordings from your main box, giving you access to your full Sky Q package from around your home.
Netflix is not free via Q but some of the packages include it, if you have one of these you don't need the two subscriptions as you can use the Sky one elsewhere.
The Sky Q premium 2TB box ups the storage, lets you record six things and also watch a seventh. And you can stream to two tablets. You also need the higher-end box to watch 4K content.
Upgrading the HDD really depends on the maximum size that the hardware and firmware in the Sky Q will support. Many PVRs are limited to a max of 2TB.
Unless it's Buy & Keep, you won't be able to transfer any recordings on your Sky+ box to your Sky Q box. Some shows might be available on Catch Up TV, Sky Box Sets and on demand movies, but we'd advise you watch any recordings you'd like to see before your Sky Q install date.
However, if you want to use it as an external hard disk, merely attach this drive to your PC with a USB cable or related USB adapter and format it there. And then, you can freely use this drive on different computers with compatible file system types.
Go to sky One and a message appears say ” Your viewing card needs to be paired”. Press select and pair your card. You now have access to all your recording on your Sky+ HD box again. Return your card to Sky Q box and do the same and pair your viewing card back to your Sky Q box.
