First workaround: Force your phone to restart while it's charging. Plug your phone into the charger. With your phone plugged into power, press and hold the Power and Volume Up keys simultaneously for about 15 seconds. When your phone vibrates three times release both keys.

The volume and home buttons
Pressing down both volume buttons on your device for a long period can often bring up a boot menu. From there you can choose to restart your device. - Cut the USB cable.
- Skin 5mm of red and black wires.
- Twist the exposed end of each wire.
- Plug in the USB cable into charger.
- Place red wire on the top pad.
- Place black wire on the bottom pad.
- Enjoy.
