When the time and date are set correctly, the GPS in the iPhone predicts where the satellite signal originates. This allows it to lock on to more satellites and to find those signals more quickly. Accuracy to within 10 meters can be expected as long as the phone locks on to at least three satellites.

GPS & Maps: Track Coordinates, Compass + Waypoints
The thing that differs this navigation app from others the most is its compass. It's not an extraordinary feature, especially given that iPhones, for example, have a built-in compass app.Waze generally loads faster than Google Maps as it uses up more data. This means it can update your location and present you with re-route options more efficiently while you're on the road. Users have noted that Waze bugs down from time to time, and its GPS functions are not as sophisticated as Google Maps just yet.

Latitude is written before longitude. Latitude is written with a number, followed by either “north” or “south” depending on whether it is located north or south of the equator. Longitude is written with a number, followed by either “east” or “west” depending on whether it is located east or west of the Prime Meridian.
The number of latitude degrees will be larger the further away from the equator the place is located, all the way up to 90 degrees latitude at the poles. Latitude locations are given as __ degrees North or __ degrees South. Vertical mapping lines on Earth are lines of longitude, known as "meridians".
