A List is a curated group of Twitter accounts. You can create your own Lists or follow Lists created by others. Viewing a List timeline will show you a stream of Tweets from only the accounts on that List.
Follow the steps below to create a private list on Twitter.
- Click on profile picture at the top right and click Lists.
- On the right sidebar, click on Create List.
- Give desired name and description to your list. Select Private.
- Finally, click on Save List.
To find out how many lists you are listed on log in to Twitter and go to your profile. Once you are looking at your profile page click “Lists” on the menu under your cover image. Then click “Member Of” on the right, above the lists you have created. That's all there is to it.
On Twitter
- Log into Twitter and click on your profile icon.
- From the drop-down menu, choose Lists.
- Scroll down until you see Create a list in the left sidebar.
- Enter a name and optional description for your list.
- Choose whether to make your list public or private.
- Click Save list.
To change yours, tap your profile icon within the Twitter app and then select “Settings and Privacy” followed by “Content Preferences.” Under the Timeline subheading, you'll see a listing for “Show me best tweets first,” uncheck the box beside it to have tweets instead publish in chronological order.
When a user is added to a public list, they are notified. Public lists are visible to anyone who has the URL of the list, or anyone who is linked to the list. Private lists do not notify the user when they are added to the list, and they do not appear in search.
Twitter lists your followers in the order in which they followed you. Recent followers/followed Twitter accounts appear among first in the list.

How to Find Twitter Lists
- Go to your Twitter feed.
- Look at the navigation on the left and click Lists.
- Click the Owned column to see lists you've made.
- Click Subscribed to see lists you've subscribed to.
- Click Member to see the lists that others have added your profile to.
The site allows any Twitter user to join a group, called a "twibe," simply by sending a tweet that includes the URL of the twibe's homepage. After you join, any tweet you send that includes the twibe's keywords will go to all members of the twibe.
Another feature that Twitter Lists Redux enables is sorting your Lists in alphabetical order. By default, your Lists are sorted in alphabetical order. If you'd like to reset the sorting order, click the slider icon and then click Reset sorting. This will order your Lists based on when they were created, newest first.
Scroll down past your own tweets and you'll see lists in between favorites and drafts. After selecting lists, in the top right-hand corner, tap the “+” button and enter the info. To add a user to a list, you either search for them or find them in your main timeline, and click on their icon.

There are three ways to begin creating your own Moment via twitter.com. You can access Moments through the Moments tab, your profile page, or through a Tweet detail.
To pin a list to your Twitter app on Android, open up the side menu, then look for the Lists section. From there, you'll see a group of any lists you've set up on your account. To pin a list, simply tap the pin icon on the far right side of the screen and it will jump up to the pinned section.
