Communication subscriptionsIn your HubSpot account, navigate to Contacts > Contacts. Click the name of the contact. In the left panel, scroll down to the Communication Subscriptions section. If the contact has opted out of all email, it will stated that [Contact name] is opted out of email.
Manage your contacts
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Contacts > Contacts.
- In the upper right: Actions: click to update your contacts and their properties in your HubSpot account. Edit properties: select to edit your contact properties. Learn more on managing your properties.
To opt in from the CRM navigate to the contacts view in your portal and check off all applicable contacts you want to manage subscriptions for. Click the 'More' dropdown, select 'Add communication subscription,' and either add a subscription to the contacts or check the box to override the portal wide opt out.
To reactivate a subscriber you need to open the list that they were subscribed to:
- Click Lists & subscribers, then click on the relevant list.
- Click the Unsubscribed tab, as pictured below.
- If required, use the search field to find the subscriber, then select the checkbox to the left of the email address.
In your email inbox, open a previously sent marketing email from HubSpot. In the email footer, click the email preferences link to resubscribe or update your email preferences.
Log in to your HubSpot account. In your HubSpot account, click your account name in the top right corner, then click Profile & Preferences. In the CRM Communication section, click to toggle the Include a link to unsubscribe from all emails switch on.
Subscription types represent the lawful basis to communicate with your contacts through email. Contacts can manage their email preferences so they're only opted in to emails they want to receive.

Unsubscribe from Our Mailing List
- Enter your email address in the text box below.

View unsubscribed contacts
- Click the Audience icon.
- Click All contacts.

A good trick to find and unsubscribe from all the Mailchimp lists you're on is to search for mcsv.net and then select all, report as spam, and unsubscribe.
From the contact table
- Click the Audience icon.
- Click All contacts.
- If you have more than one audience, click the Current audience drop-down and choose the one you want to work with.
- Check the box next to each subscribed contact you want to unsubscribe.
- Click the Actions drop-down menu and choose Unsubscribe.
Changing your unsubscribe page on MailChimp
- Go to MailChimp and log in.
- From the top menu, click “Lists.”
- In front of the list, you want to modify, click on the arrow then “Signup Forms.”
- Select “Form Builder”
- Under “Forms and response emails,” select “Unsubscribe Form.”
First visit the Contacts page and search for the contact that you wish to unsubscribe. Click on the name of the contact that you wish to unsubscribe. You will then need to click on "edit" near the contact email address. From this menu you will be able to manually unsubscribe this contact.
Go to the source of the flood of mailings and turn off the faucet! Remove your name from mailing lists at It can take up to 90 days for the flow to stop since many mailings are already in print or production. Please note: there is now a small fee of $2 to unsubscribe through DMA Choice.
TIP
- Reply to the sender. Ask them to remove you from the list.
- Have these unwanted newsletters or promotions redirected to another email folder.
- Block the sender (You can unblock this address at any time)
- Filter messages from the company. Most, if not all, ESPs have a provision for filtering emails.
How to stop spam emails
- Try to avoid opening spam emails and clicking on links in spam messages.
- Don't buy anything from a spammer.
- Don't be tempted to reply.
- Don't threaten the spammer.
- Avoid 'unsubscribe' options.
- Use a disposable email address.
- Be wary about giving out your main email address.
Block senders or mark email as junk in Outlook.com
- To block someone in Outlook.com, select the messages or senders you want to block.
- From the top toolbar, select Junk > Block (or Spam > Block).
- Select OK. The messages you select will be deleted and all future messages will be blocked from your mailbox.
The unsubscribe rate is a metric that measures the percentage of people who opt out from an email list. The unsubscribe rate percentage is calculated by dividing the number of people who unsubscribed by the number of emails delivered times hundred (Unsubscribed number/Emails delivered x 100 = Unsubscribed rate %).
You can also block email from the Mail app
- Open an email from a sender you want to block.
- Tap the name of the sender.
- Then tap the name listed next to From in the header.
- Choose Block This Contact.
- Confirm you want to block the contact.
- iOS and iPadOS add that contact to your Blocked list.
Surprisingly, it actually isn't safe to unsubscribe from spam emails this way — in fact, some scammers rely on your click to access even more of your information. According to Rick's Daily Tips, a blog run by an A+ certified computer tech, you shouldn't click the unsubscribe button in any questionable spam emails.
File a complaint online or at 1-888-382-1222. Include the date of the illegal call, phone number, and the company's name in your complaint. You can also file a complaint about recorded messages or robocalls.
