Missing Top and Bottom Margins
- Display the Word Options dialog box. (In Word 2007 click theOffice button and then click Word Options.
- At the left side of the dialog box, click Display. (See Figure1.)
- Set or clear the Show White Space between Pages in Print LayoutView checkbox, as desired.
- Click OK.
To change the scale of a Word documentwithout adjusting its formatting, open the "File" menu, click"Print" and open the zoom option, which by default reads "1 PagePer Sheet." Choose "Scale to Paper Size" and pick a newsize.
Word 2010/2013
- Open a new document, click on the Home tab, click on the Fontdialog box button as shown in the screenshot below, and select theFont tab.
- Choose the font settings that you would like to make thedefault and click Set As Default.

In order to change the printer settings you'll need tofollow these steps if you are using Word 2010, Word 2013, or Word2016:
- Display the File tab of the ribbon.
- Click Print at the left side of the dialog box.
- Using the Printer drop-down list, select the printer you wantto use.
- Click on the Printer Properties button.
Click "Programs" then click "Default Programs" to openthe Default Programs window. Click "Microsoft Office2007" in the window's sidebar and click "OK" to resetOffice 2007 as the default program for all applicablefiles.
The default margins for Microsoft Wordfrom version 2007 onward have been 1 inch (25.4 mm) all around; inWord 2003, the default top and bottom marginswere 1 inch (25.4 mm), but 1.25 inches (31.7 mm) were given at theleft and the right.
To open the Clipboard task pane, click Home, andthen click the Clipboard dialog box launcher. Double-clickthe image or text you want to paste. Note: To open the Clipboardtask pane in Outlook, in an open message, click theMessage tab, and then click the Clipboard dialog boxlauncher in the Clipboard group.
Change margins, page orientation, and pagesize
Tap the More button , then tap Document Setup. Toadjust the margins for a word processing document, drag thearrows around the body text box. You can change themargins of all sides of the page.There are four margins on a Microsoft wordpage - top , bottom , left , right.
Change the default margins of your Word 2007documents
- In the ribbon, click the Page Layout tab.
- Click the Margins tool in the Page Setup group.
- Click Custom Margins.
- Change your right and left margins to one inch.
- Click the Default button.
- Click Yes.
Set one or more print areas
- On the worksheet, select the cells that you want to define asthe print area. Tip: To set multiple print areas, hold down theCtrl key and click the areas you want to print.
- On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click PrintArea, and then click Set Print Area.
To enable the option, open a Word document, clickFile>Options to open Word Options, click Advanced Tab,under Show document content group, select Show textboundaries option.
Margins are the space between the edge of thepaper and the text. You can adjust the right, left, top, and bottommargins of your document. By default, Wordsets all margins left, right, top, and bottom to 1inch.
#2: Changing the Default Font for New Workbooks
- Click on the File tab.
- Select Options at the bottom left.
- Under General options there is a section for “Whencreating new workbooks.”
- Here you can select the option to change the font and font sizefor all new workbooks.
- Click OK.
- Close and re-open Excel.
To use your favorite font in Word all the time, set it asthe default.
- Go to Home, and then select the Font Dialog Box Launcher .
- Select the font and size you want to use.
- Select Set As Default.
- Select one of the following: This document only. All documentsbased on the Normal template.
- Select OK twice.

- Go to C:Usersuser nameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftTemplates.
- Open the Normal template (Normal.dotm).
- Make any changes that you want to the fonts, margins, spacing,and other settings.
- When you have finished, click the File tab, and then clickSave.

The default margins for Microsoft Word fromversion 2007 onward have been 1 inch (2.54 cm) all around; in Word2003, the default top and bottom margins were 1 inch(2.54 cm), but 1.25 inches (3.17 cm) were given at the leftand the right.
1.25 inches (3.17 cm) is the default left andright margin in "Word 2003 document". 1 inch (2.54cm) is set as Standard margins on both sides(left and right) and 1.25 inches on the top and bottom in"Word 2003 document". The default left marginof word 2003 document is 1.25 inches.
