How to Add Quick Access Shortcuts.
- Open Windows Explorer. You can get it by hitting Windows Key + E or by clicking its shortcut on the taskbar.
- Navigate to the folder you want to make a shortcut to.
- Right-click it and select Pin to Quick Access.
Click the double-arrow button to access the Quick Launch menu. If you decide you don't want the Quick Launch bar on the Taskbar anymore, simply right-click on any empty space on the Taskbar and go to Toolbars > Quick Launch.
Quick Launch is a section of the Microsoft Taskbar that enables a user the ability to launch their programs. This feature was first introduced with the release of Microsoft Windows 98 and is located to the right of the Start button and to the left of any openprograms.
Drag any shortcut, file, folder, drive over the Quick Launch toolbar on the taskbar until you see either Move to Quick Launch or Create link in Quick Launch, then drop the item to create a shortcut of it in Quick Launch. Open the hidden Quick Launch folder above, and move or create a new shortcut for the item in it.
Pin an app to the taskbar. From the Start menu or apps list, press and hold (or right-click) an app, then select More > Pin to taskbar .
Just click once to select the icon/program/document you want to add, and while holding the right mouse button, drag it to an empty area BETWEEN 2 existing icons on the Quick Launch toolbar. When in place, the mouse pointer will show a black ] mark. Let go of the right mouse button, and select “Create Shortcuts Here”.

- Hold SHIFT and right-click on the taskbar item of which you want to change the icon.
- Select Properties.
- Click Change Icon…
- Browse for the icon and select it.
- Click OK twice.
- Type TASKKILL /F /IM EXPLORER. EXE in start menu search box or run and press Enter.
- Type EXPLORER.

Right-click a blank part of the desktop and choose Personalize. The Control Panel's Personalization pane appears. Click the Desktop Background option along the window's bottom left corner. Click Save Changes and exit the Desktop Background window when you're satisfied with your choices.
Locate the window pane titled "Customize Quick Access Toolbar". Highlight and click "Remove" next to each active shortcut. For example, to remove the save feature from the toolbar, highlight save, and click the "Remove" button, located in the center of the window.
Click on the Quick Access Toolbar drop-down menu arrow, and select the checked command to uncheck and remove it. Alternatively, right-click on a previously added command on the Quick Access Toolbar, and click on “Remove from Quick Access Toolbar”.
The Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are independent of the tab on the ribbon that is currently displayed. You can move the Quick Access Toolbar from one of the two possible locations, and you can add buttons that represent commands to the Quick Access Toolbar.
Simply launch File Explorer, and the Quick Access section appears right off the bat. You'll see your most frequently used folders and most recently used files at the top of the left and right panes. By default, the Quick Access section is always in this location, so you can jump to the top to view it.

Right-click on an empty portion of the Windows taskbar. Click Properties in the pop-up menu. On the Taskbar tab, check or uncheck the Show Quick Launch option to enable to disable this feature.

If you want to move the Quick Launch toolbar to the left, right-click the taskbar and uncheck “Lock the Taskbar” from the popup menu. Click on the left edge (two vertical dotted lines) of the Quick Launch toolbar, and drag it over to the left as far as it will go.
