Meteorologists need to hold at least a bachelor's degree in meteorology or atmospheric science, which includes courses in biology, calculus, chemistry, physics, and computer science. A degree in physics, chemistry, or geoscience may be adequate for certain positions.

Information about Climate Studies & Meteorology DegreesClimate studies and meteorology is an interdisciplinary study that focuses on the activity and changes of the atmosphere as well as weather patterns, on the other side. Large-scale climate and weather effects such as El Nino or global warming are also studied.
There are six main components, or parts, of weather. They are temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind, humidity, precipitation, and cloudiness.
Weather is the day-to-day variation of the atmosphere's condition locally. Climate is the year-by-year variation of the atmosphere's condition over a large area. Scientists record weather patterns across different times and areas to make predictions.

Weather affects us in a huge number of ways. Climate influences the growth of crops, thus affecting the availability and kind of food we eat. Fluctuations in weather (e.g. dry spells, wet spells) also affect crops. Weather affects what clothes we wear, and soon.

The reason we have seasons is because, during its journey around the Sun, the Earth is tilted. The Earth's tilt affects the amount of daylight each hemisphere gets, which in turn makes the temperature hotter or colder.
Earth's tilted axis causes the seasons. Throughout the year, different parts of Earth receive the Sun's most direct rays. So, when the North Pole tilts toward the Sun, it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere. And when the South Pole tilts toward the Sun, it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
The seasons are four different times during the year with different types of weather. The four seasons are called spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Seasons change throughout the year because of the way the earth moves. The earth orbits, or travels around, the sun.

Seasons affect many parts of daily life. Climate, weather and the change of the seasons affect much of what we do each day. The change of seasons allows for many different types of work, food, celebrations and recreation. Plants and animals also change their ways with the seasons.
