Tap to open the iSpeaker app on your phone. Play the audio file you want to stream through your iPhone. With the iSpeaker app activated, you should hear the audio from your computer playing on the iPhone's speaker.
To use the iPhone receiver or speaker for calls, do any of the following:
- Answer a call by tapping the iPhone screen.
- During a call, tap Audio, then choose iPhone or Speaker Phone.
- Turn off the Bluetooth device, unpair it, or move out of range.
- Go to Settings , tap Bluetooth, then turn off Bluetooth.
Select a Bluetooth audio device as your computer's input or output device
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sound. Open Sound preferences for me.
- If your device is meant for sound output (for example, headphones), click Output.
- Select the device you want to use in the list of devices.
To start, connect your iPhone to your Mac using a lightning cable and launch Quicktime Player. Click the File menu and choose "New Movie Recording." Click the arrow to the right of the record button and you'll see your phone as a choice. If you want to record audio as well, change the microphone to your phone as well.

- Be signed into the same iCloud account on all devices.
- Have all devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

If you want to use your iPhone like any other off the shelf bluetooth speaker, you cannot. But there is a way to push audio to your iPhone over bluetooth so that it plays your music. Once you do that, its equivalent to opening a socket to which, you can stream your audio and play it via speakers.
How to Configure AirPlay on an iPhone
- Make sure that both the iPhone and AirPlay receiver are powered on and connected to the same wireless network.
- On the iPhone, swipe up to open Control Center.
- Tap and hold the music control area, then tap the AirPlay button.
- Tap a device to connect to it over AirPlay.
Sync files from your Mac to iPhone or iPad
- Connect your device to your Mac.
- In the Finder on your Mac, select the device in the Finder sidebar.
- Select Files in the button bar.
- Drag a file or selection of files from a Finder window onto an app name in the list.
- Click the disclosure triangle beside the app name to see files already transferred to your device.
Enabling Wireless Syncing on an iPhone
- On your Mac, open the iTunes application.
- Connect your iPhone to your Mac with the USB cable.
- Click the iPhone button in iTunes, as shown below.
- Select the Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi checkbox, as shown below.
Step 2: Enable AirDrop on Mac and Send Files
- Go to Finder > Go.
- In the sidebar menu, click on AirDrop and the receiving iPhone should appear as a circle with the iPhone's name underneath it in the AirDrop list on the Mac.
- Open a new Finder window and locate the files you want to send to the target iPhone.

- Step 1: Connect your iPhone to Mac computer with a USB cable and tap "Trust This Computer" on your device if you are asked.
- Step 2: Click "Add File" or "Add Folder" to select the files or folder that you want to transfer from Mac to your iPhone.

- Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your Mac, and click "Trust" when a prompt appears on your iPhone.

Sync your content using Wi-Fi
- Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable, then open iTunes and select your device.
- Click Summary on the left side of the iTunes window.
- Select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
- Click Apply.
In addition, Apple supports its Wi-Fi-based AirPlay mirroring technology that allows streaming of the iPhone or iPad's screen to supported devices. As with iOS, Apple has included AirPlay mirroring in OS X to stream to devices that support this feature, but has not provided a way to stream from one system to the next.
Use a mobile phone to connect your Mac to the internet
- If your mobile phone isn't already connected with your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth.
- Select your phone in the Devices list, then click Connect.
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Network, then click Bluetooth PAN in the list on the left.
Syncing iTunes
When it comes to syncing your device to iTunes, you will not be able to use the Bluetooth capabilities of the device. Bluetooth syncing is not supported by Apple and it does not connect to the iTunes on your computer. Using a Mac's QuickTime player, you can easily mirror your iPhone screen on your Mac. You can also use the third-party app Reflector to optimize iPhone content that is set up for AirPlay to be played on your computer.
Connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac with the cable, and then launch Audio Midi Setup on your computer. Your iPhone or iPad will show up as a new input source in Sound Preferences so any audio playing on the device will play through your speakers, headphones, or other selected audio out device on your Mac.
Connecting your iPhone to your Mac via Bluetooth makes it possible to sync with iTunes wirelessly or to connect to Personal Hotspot, a feature available on select data plans that turns your iPhone into a mobile hot spot. Click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar on your Mac.
Open the File Manager in your handset and select those data you want to transfer. After selected, hit the Menu button and choose "Share" option. You will see a window popping up, choose Bluetooth to transfer the selected. After that, you will get into the Bluetooth interface, set the paired phone as destination device.
Click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and select the option to Turn Bluetooth Off. Once it's switched off, turn it back on by clicking on Turn Bluetooth On. If the macOS or OSX “Bluetooth Not Available” error hasn't gone away, try rebooting your Mac. Shut the system down completely and reboot it as usual.
