In short, Intel's 10th generation Comet Lake is the better way to go compared to the Coffee Lake 9th gen chips. More cores, more threads, and of course higher speeds.
Intel's 10th gen Comet Lake S CPUs don't take the crown in multi-core performance but they close the gap enough that you may want to actually consider them. Intel's 10th gen Core i9-10900K is—without a doubt—exactly as Intel has described it: “the world's fastest gaming CPU.”
You currently can't buy 10th Gen Core processors by themselves. Intel has only launched its 10th Gen Core chips for laptops, so you'll start seeing them pop up in laptops and 2-in-1s from manufacturers like Dell, HP, and Lenovo soon.

But now, after years of delays, the company is about to bring its first real batch* of 10nm CPUs to the world. This slide states that the “press news embargo” for 10th Gen Intel Core Processors will run from 13 April – 26 June, 2020. They were originally suspected to launch either in Q1 2020, or a more definite, though still vague April/May release window, depending on which leak you believed.
The major difference between the 9th and 10th generation processors is the fact that the latter model comes with Sunny Core architecture. It offers an 18% improvement in performance over the previous generations of processors, including the 8th and 9th generation processors.

Overall, the Core i7-10700K gives you nearly the same gaming performance as the Core i9-10900K, but for $110 less, and overclocking eliminates any meaningful difference in gaming performance between the chips. Still, more importantly, the pending chips have resulted in lower pricing on the existing processors.

Speaking generally, i9s are simply faster processors than are i7s – more cores, higher clock, more cache. The big differentiator is when it comes to Hyperthreading, the feature that creates two processing threads for every physical core. For 9th Gen Core processors, Intel has restricted Hyperthreading to i9 only.

Rocking 8 cores and 16 threads, the Core i7-10700K from Intel is a serious processor for gamers and content creators. It's not quite as efficient as AMD's hardware, but it's still a super-good choice.

Tsmc 7nm is actually less dense and power efficient than intels original 10nm specs. Even now (meaning what they will come up with in 2020) they are roughly equal. Intel slipped.

All eight of these new 10th Gen processors use Intel's 14nm process, not Ice Lake's 10nm process. That doesn't make these bad, per se. Notably, the new Intel Core i7-10710U is its first hexacore U-series processor, and it features 12 threads and a higher max clock speed than some of Intel's Ice Lake processors.
If you've been keeping track, Intel's been releasing its 10th Gen chips for months now in laptops, with both its 14nm Comet Lake processors and its fancy new 10nm Ice Lake chips (which offer better battery life, performance, and efficiency thanks to the process improvements).
The 10th Gen chip did see a sizeable lead when running games in Full HD though. The performance increase is too marginal to be worth upgrading from the i9-9900K, but if you're building your rig from scratch and want the most powerful gaming PC possible, then making a move to 10th Gen is still worth considering.
This means more battery life , less heat generation. So please buy i7 8th gen for performance it's a lot better than i5 10th gen. But if you want battery life and average performance then you should consider the i5 10th gen.
The 10thgen CPUs are equally good, as they support 1080p gaming without having to add a dedicated graphics card. On the overclocking front, the 9thgen Intel Core i7 is better because the i7 chips are inherently better than the i5 processors in this category.
The Best 10th Gen CPU For GamingThe best performance in light gaming with an Intel CPU is to be gained through an i5 or i7 CPU. an i7 CPU is going to deliver you greater performance in every task when compared to the i5. However, naturally this will need an increased budget.
As you may have noticed the upgrade from the 8th Generation to the 9th Generation is ever so slight, so there wasn't any chance for the Core i5-9300H to beat the Core i7-8750H. However, it is both cheaper and offers a better performance-per-core which may present a better gaming experience.
