The Republic of Kiribati's Line Islands, which have a time zone of +14 hours UTC, are on the far east of the earth. These two places, therefore, have the biggest time difference of 26 hours.
The nation of Samoa also observed the same time as the Samoa Time Zone until it moved across the International Date Line at the end of 29 December 2011; it is now 24 hours (25 hours in southern hemisphere summer) ahead of American Samoa.

The Republic of India uses only one time zone (even though it spans across two geographical time zones) across the whole nation and all its territories, called Indian Standard Time (IST), which equates to UTC+05:30, i.e. five and a half hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Amongst many things the Second World War messed up, one of them was the time zones between the UK and the rest of Europe. Meanwhile, Spanish dictator Franco changed the time to an hour ahead in Spain too. This would explain why Portugal is the same time zone as the UK, despite being in the same actual place as Spain.

EUROPE TIME ZONES. Western European Standard Time is the same as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), however, during periods when Daylight Saving Time is in use, Western European Summer Time is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Turkey currently observes Turkey Time (TRT) all year. Clocks do not change in Turkey. The previous DST change in Turkey was on September 8, 2016.
In Portugal exists a time difference of 1 hour between the East and the West. They have a nationwide clock change from standard time to daylight saving time, where the clocks are switched forward by 1 hour in summer. The next clock change in Lisbon will be on October 31st, 2021 at 2:00 to standard time.
