Adobe InDesign CC is available as a subscription, and the cost for InDesign CC varies based upon the subscription plan selected. An individual subscription for only InDesign is $19.99 per month when subscribed for a full year, and $29.99 per month if subscribed only for a single month.
A Bleed is the area just extending past the edge of the page, past the trim edge. So here in this diagram you can see the edge of the bleed marked out skirting around the outer edge of the page. A Bleed acts as a margin of error when the document is trimmed, after it's been printed.
In order to download and use Adobe InDesign for free, you must first go to indesign.html. There you will see, at the top of the page, the “Free Trial” button. Clicking on it will open a window with two options: InDesign: Here you can download only Adobe InDesign.
Set general preferences
Choose Edit > Preferences > General (Windows) or InDesign > Preferences > General (Mac OS), and then choose the type of preferences you want to specify.Open Indesign and go to window-tools to show the toolbar then close Indesign. The default will then show the toolbar.
InDesign is a desktop publishing software application for creating flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, and books. Projects created using InDesign can be shared in both digital and print formats. InDesign is used by graphic designers, artists, publishers, and marketing professionals.
While creating a document in InDesign, instead of beginning with a blank document, you can choose from a wide variety of templates, including templates from Adobe Stock. In addition to templates, you can also create a document by selecting one of the numerous presets available in InDesign.
ABR file at the following location by default:
- (Windows) C:Users<username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop <version>PresetsBrushes.
- (macOS) Applications/Adobe Photoshop <version>/Presets/Brushes.
Start InDesign (you do not need to have any document open) and go to File > Adobe PDF Presets > Define. In Adobe PDF Presets dialog click Load button and navigate to file with . joboptions extension on your hard drive.
IMPORT PDF PRESET INTO ADOBE INDESIGN
From INDESIGN at the top of the window go to > FILE > ADOBE PDF PRESETS > DEFINE > LOAD > Navigate to the PDF Preset file that you downloaded > HIGHLIGHT PDF PRESET FILE > OPEN > DONE. PDF Preset is now loaded into Adobe Indesign.The custom file is saved in (Windows) /Documents and Settings/[user name]/Application Data/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings, (Vista/7/8) User/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings, or (Mac OS) Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings.
Using a keyboard shortcut:
- (Windows) Start InDesign, and then immediately press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
- (Mac OS) Start InDesign, and then immediately press Shift+Option+Command+Control. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
You can use the Adobe PDF Presets dialog box to add, delete, rename, edit, and import or export PDF export presets.
- To delete a PDF export preset, select the preset name and click the Delete button.
- To export PDF export presets, select the presets and click the Save As button.
If InDesign keeps crashing
When InDesign crashes each time it is started, this is most likely caused by a recovery file that gets loaded automatically and that causes the application to crash. Locate the folder named 'InDesign Recovery' where such files are kept and delete all the files in it.Although there is no way to Export and Import a workspace, there is a way to do it manually. And then you will see a bunch of blank file types named with the names of your Workspaces, you can then manually copy them out and load them in to the same folder on the other computer (or just save them for backup).
Export and import presets
- Open Photoshop.
- Choose Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets.
- Choose Export Presets.
- Select the desired presets and move them to the Presets To Export column.
- Click Export Presets.
- Select the folder to export your presets to.
- Click OK.
A workspace, is the entire working area of Photoshop.
It's what encompasses all the menus, tools and panels. Simply put, it's pretty much everything you can see and click within Photoshop.Export and import presets

The Workspace refers to how the entire InDesign window is configured—the panels on the Panel Dock , the tools that are displayed on the top level of the Toolbar , etc. There are several preset workspaces built into InDesign that are geared for different kinds of projects, such as Digital Publishing.
To add assets to a Creative Cloud Library in InDesign, go to Window > CC Libraries, to open the Libraries panel. In the Libraries panel, you can create a new Library by clicking the Create New Library option and naming the Library, or you can simply add assets to the default library, named My Library.
Enable or disable Sync Settings
- To choose what gets synchronized, do one of the following: Navigate to Edit > {AdobeID logged in} > Manage Sync Settings. Navigate to Edit (Mac: Illustrator) > Preferences > Sync Settings.
- In the Sync Options area, from the Sync drop-down, select an option.
To sync settings between your computers, (at work and at home for example), select Photoshop > (UserID) > Sync Settings and choose which settings you want to sync. Available settings include: Preferences, Actions, Brushes, Swatches, Styles, Gradients, Custom Shapes, Patterns, Contours and Tool Presets.
