The Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA) is provided by the Department for Work and Pensions. This allowance can be used to cover the cost of a Motability Scheme lease agreement. This allowance is currently £62.25 per week (as of 08/04/2020).

Motability will now insure up to three people drive the car. The Mobility Allowance recipient does not need to be one of these named drivers. So, if you qualify for a Motability car but don't actually drive, you can nominate up to 3 drivers (who could be relatives, friends or carers) to drive the car on your behalf.
The car is covered for social, domestic and pleasure purposes including travel directly between home and permanent place of work, at all times under the Certificate of Motor Insurance. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY CAR? As this is a new car, delivery times will vary from manufacturer and model – the dealership will be able to tell you at the time you order. Most delivery times will take a couple of weeks, although this could be as long as 3-6 months depending on vehicle specification and lead time.
