GDI engines provide many benefits that conventional fuel injection can't. With gasoline direct injection technology, you can draw more power from smaller engines. In addition, your car gets improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. While great, the power of the GDI engine is a double-edged sword.
Gasoline Direct Injection
A conventional electronic fuel injection has been used in mass-produced cars since the late 1950's. Until recently, almost all gasoline cars had a multi-point (multi-port) fuel injection, or MPI, and it has been very dependable.
Replace spark plugs at the recommended mileage to reduce the amount of unburned fuel in the combustion chamber. Use a premium quality fuel with added detergents to help keep engine parts clean from deposits. Add a fuel system cleaner to maintain the condition of the GDi system.
Direct injection technology provides slightly more power and better fuel economy; depending on the application, it's usually in the 10–15 per cent range of improvement. But engine torque delivery can be bumped by as much as 50 per cent.

Direct injection incorporates a fuel-delivery technology that optimizes gasoline engines and allows them to burn more fuel more efficiently. In turn, this improves the engine's fuel economy and makes it more powerful.
The reason for the noise level is the extremely high pressures at which the direct-injection fuel system runs. Second, the solenoids that control the fuel flow, both at the high-pressure pump and in the injectors, need to be much stronger in a DI engine and are consequently noisier.

Quadrajet would be any day better than TDI. Quadrajet (1.3 multijet from FIAT) is technologically far superior than TDI, in terms of mileage and NVH. The parts though are bit costlier than TDI (filter etc.) You would get a very refined engine with Quadrajet as compared to TDI.
