Most DIRECTV receivers are connected to the internet. Once you're internet-connected, you'll have the option to use the more modern forms of music streaming. You can get to these by pressing the RIGHT arrow on your remote, or pressing MENU and arrowing down to Apps.

Depending on your cable provider, the Yule Log can be watched On Demand on Channel 1000.
The Shaw Fire Log can be found on channels 165 SD and 222 HD, while Shaw Direct customers can tune into channels 299 SD and 955 HD.
The “Fireplace for Your Home†series (also available on DVD) includes a variety of background music choices and different wood species. There's something for everyone. Playing these videos works exactly the same as any other Netflix TV show or movie. Simply search for “Fireplace†to find them.
Spectrum Guide TV customers have access to the holiday yule log on Ambient Channel (TV Shows/View All), which contains a collection of photos and videos set to Christmas music.
Now first, you need to know that there are multiple yule log options on Netflix. There's the classic version which is just an hour of a nice crackling fire. It's very soothing. There's the sexier “Birchwood edition†which is fine but a bit wild for my more traditional tastes.
