At closest approach on September 16, 2021, asteroid 2021 SG came closest to Canada and Greenland. The orbit of 2021 SG shows it's an Apollo type asteroid that completes a revolution or orbit around the sun every 27 months (2.24 years). This time, it passed Earth just after just passing Mercury's orbit.
Asteroids are relatively small rocky metallic objects that orbit the sun. Gravity keeps the asteroids in orbit around the sun, but the main asteroid belt we see today is only a tiny fraction of what used to exist and is predominately empty space.
Living beings need the atmosphere to be of a specific composition, with oxygen to breathe and live, the atmosphere and the plants provide them with this gas. The temperature of the planet matters a lot too, living beings would cease to exist if the temperature on the planet was too high or too low for them to handle.

Dwarf planet Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and it's the only dwarf planet located in the inner solar system. It was the first member of the asteroid belt to be discovered when Giuseppe Piazzi spotted it in 1801.
In fact it is a very lonely place for an asteroid. Astronomers estimate that the average distance between two asteroids in the asteroid belt is about 600,000 miles (966,000 km). This is about 2.5 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
This "belt" of asteroids follows a slightly elliptical path as it orbits the Sun in the same direction as the planets. It takes anywhere from three to six Earth years for a complete revolution around the Sun.
These are much larger than comets. An asteroid only 5 km across would be classi- fied as small; Ceres, the largest, is 100 times bigger than this. Their orbits are thus less circular than the main asteroids, but more circular than the typical comet.
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) downgraded the status of Pluto to that of a dwarf planet because it did not meet the three criteria the IAU uses to define a full-sized planet. Essentially Pluto meets all the criteria except one—it “has not cleared its neighboring region of other objects.â€
Past habitability potentialRecent studies from September 2019 concluded that Venus may have had surface water and a habitable condition for around 3 billion years and may have been in this condition until 700 to 750 million years ago.
According to NASA, as of September 2021, the current number of known comets is 3,743. Though billions more are thought to be orbiting the sun beyond Neptune in the Kuiper Belt and the distant Oort cloud far beyond Pluto.
Originally designated 2003 EL61 (and nicknamed Santa by one discovery team), Haumea is located in the Kuiper Belt, a donut-shaped region of icy bodies beyond the orbit of Neptune. Haumea is roughly the same size as Pluto. It is one of the fastest rotating large objects in our solar system.
The largest asteroid is called Ceres. It is about one-quarter the size of the moon and orbits the sun between Mars and Jupiter in a region called the asteroid belt. Unlike most asteroids, Ceres is spherical in shape.
Asteroids are composed of metals and rock, whereas comets also contain ice and dust. The Kuiper belt is a collection of such bodies that orbits at the edge of the solar system.
Planetary surface temperatures tend to get colder the farther a planet is from the Sun. Venus is the exception, as its proximity to the Sun and dense atmosphere make it our solar system's hottest planet.
