*Newt dies.Newt is ready to end his own life, but Thomas tries to stop him. In the midst of a fight, Newt stabs himself in the chest. The movie made a few changes from the book. In the book, Newt begs Thomas to kill him before he becomes a full-on crank.
Baxter: A 13-year-old boy who was part of the original group of survivors who survived the tsunami that hit New York City, alongside Mark, Trina, Alec, and Lana. When they camped out at the Lincoln Building, Baxter was killed by a man called Boss. He only appears in flashbacks.
Okay, we know: Deedee turns out to be Teresa, the heroine of The Maze Runner trilogy. But first things first: let's focus on who she is as Deedee. Deedee doesn't get much characterization, probably because Mark and Alec hog all the camera—er, page—time.

A little over a year after the beginning of the Trials, Newt is in despair over all the deaths he could not prevent and the fact that there is seemingly no way out of the Maze, and he attempts suicide by jumping off a Maze wall. He survives, but his leg is injured, giving him a limp for the rest of his life.
The next day, in Lawrence's hideout, Thomas, Newt, Gally, Frypan, Brenda, and Jorge go over plans to use Teresa to get into the WCKD Tower. Newt reveals that the reason WCKD put him in the Maze was because they wanted to tell the difference between Immunes like Thomas and people like himself.

The first Maze Runner movie is especially faithful to the source material. In the sequel, the surviving Gladers are out of the confines of the Maze and head into what's left of the real world. It's a significantly bigger story with more locations, characters and a far more robust view of Wicked's agenda.

The story is very action-packed and reading the book feels very much like watching a movie. In contrast to The Hunger Games, where twenty-four boys and girls must kill each other, The Maze Runner seems more like a mystery book. In my opinion, The Maze Runner is more suitable for younger readers.
In order for the book to make sense, the trilogy has to be read and then The Kill Order before The Fever Code. This book explains so much, is suspenseful, and has a huge twist. This was the best book I ever read and finished it in two days.
