Ryzen 7 2700x is a solid CPU that can handle many tasks well and particularly gaming. With its eight-core, sixteen- threads processor, you are assured of a CPU that hits great speeds for high performance. It has a base clock of 3.7GHz which can be up-scaled to 4.3GHz.

The 2700X is more Future proof in my opinion, more cores and a garunteed upgrade path. It may. Not run as fast but is still a great preformer.
Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming – Best Motherboard for Ryzen 7 2700X: TOP PICK.
The 3700x is a substantial upgrade from the 2700x but at 1440p and 4K the maximum frame rates on an RTX 2070/2080 won't really improve - it is just the games where you get stutters or dips in frame rates that will be smoothed out and improved due to the extra CPU power.
The 8-core models are branded as “Ryzen 7” and 4–6 core models as “Ryzen 5”(*), so in the same generation the “Ryzen 7” is typically better, but for example for gaming, a new “Ryzen 5” 3600X is clearly faster than old “Ryzen 7” 1700.
Great for entry-level gaming, and if you are willing to try out the Real-Time Ray Tracing without investing much money on graphics cards like RTX 2080 Ti. With solid build quality, best performance, and better clocks, the EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 Super SC Ultra Gaming is the best graphics card for Ryzen 7 2700x.
No its not. That board can support up to 3200 Mhz ram. You need to manually set it or use the built in XMP profiles.

For the Ryzen 7 3700X, you'll want to install 3000MHz or faster modules, but Corsair's Vengeance LPX 16GB Kit is an excellent option for this CPU. If you have a huge budget and want to kit your PC out with some fancy-looking RAM, the G.
DDR4-3600 CL16 – Ryzen 3000 Memory Sweet SpotAccording to HardwareLuxx's recent test where they compared the performance of the Ryzen 7 3700X at different memory speeds, they concluded that DDR4-3600 with a CL18 was the sweet spot for Zen 2 builds, in terms of performance relative to its price.
If you have a Ryzen based system 3200 is a sweet spot in terms of performance and will benefit you very well. “Faster RAM will give your PC better performance in certain specific benchmarks, but in terms of actual benefit to most users, having more RAM available is almost always better than having faster RAM.
Right-click your taskbar and select “Task Manager” or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open it. Click the “Performance” tab and select “Memory” in the left pane. If you don't see any tabs, click “More Details” first. The total amount of RAM you have installed is displayed here.
XMP or Extreme Memory Profiles, is an Intel technology that allows you to change multiple memory settings by simply selecting a different profile, taking advantage of higher than standard memory speeds.
System Stability
- Try slightly increasing the memory voltage, and the IMC voltage, to allow for higher frequencies. Be cautious when pushing voltages higher.
- Decrease the frequency to a lower level, and try again.
- Change your timings. Some combinations of frequency and timings won't work.
Stock cooler supports the 2700X all the way up to 4.3Ghz at very reasonable temps. the H100i V2 is a 2x 120 mm cooler, even if the prism was utterly amazing I would still use the AIO cooler, if yours is compatible with AM4. it should still be a fair bit quieter than the prism. also.
Overclocking potential varies from chip to chip. The average Ryzen™ 7 2700X should be able to attain an overclock in the range of 4.1 GHz to 4.2 GHz, while the really good samples can reach 4.3 GHz to 4.4 GHz.
Max temperature is 95°C throttling will start. My advice when stress testing aim for a max of ~ 85°C this will give you headroom if ambients are a bit higher down the road and also help preserve the chip life. And here I was panic-stopping my Prime95 tests on my Ryzen 1600X when temps reached 60°C, lol.
AMD processors generally do run warmer than Intel processors but Intel processors can get hotter. AMD's CPU temperatures are more or less consistent while Intel CPU temps can vary from system to system.
Despite really low thermal design power (TDP) ratings, Ryzen chips have oddly been labeled as running hot. “In the short term, users of the AMD Ryzen 1700X and 1800X can simply subtract 20°C to determine the true junction temperature of their processor.
“Normal” CPU temps are going to vary quite a bit depending on the processor. If you have an AMD processor, you could say that a CPU core temperature of over 40-45-degrees Celsius while idling and/or a temperature of over 70 degrees Celsius while under full load is probably be cause for concern.
Due to the small size of the CPU-die, the heat density (W/mm²) of this chip is very high. Higher CPU temperatures are normal for Ryzen 3000 processors and not a sign of that there is anything wrong with the CPU cooler.
