GRAPHICS CARDAutoDesk specifically recommend the Nvidia Quadro line of professional workstation graphics cards, however, Orbital Computers has found through testing and supporting AutoCAD workstations over the years that Nvidia's RTX GeForce cards work very well for AutoCAD as well.
Specific Render tasks – Quadro cards are designed for very specific render tasks like CAD design and professional video rendering. That type of power does come at a cost, but if the budget is open, Quadro is king in this department.
The Best Graphics Card for AutoCAD is MSI RTX 3070 Gaming-X-Trio. The PNY Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 is the second-best graphics card. If your budget is low, then I suggest the AMD Radeon RX 580 8Gb.
Yes, that laptop will work great, smoothly and is actually a bit of an overkill, but you never know when you need a bit of extra juice.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 is a very popular choice with AutoCAD users: it's a good option. It will work fine.
Verdict. As we see from the gameplay footages, the GeForce MX150 is more than capable of running most every modern game at least to some extent. Less demanding titles like GTA V and DOOM could even be played with a higher frame rate and/or graphics settings. E-sports titles would run without any hiccups.
Absolutely enough power to handle that; that was kinda the purpose of designing it for laptops. It is NOT a gaming GPU by a long shot, but it handles regular 4k video loads just fine.
144 hz should be no problem. But you need an adapter/cable which supports it. The adapter that comes with the laptop is only able to support 120 hz at 1080p (for me at least).
Nvidia claims the MX150 is 25% more powerful than the 940MX (and 4x more powerful than last-generation Intel HD Graphics 520), so from that we can take away that while this GPU isn't designed for the latest AAA games, it can technically run them if you dial down graphics settings and/or resolution.
It offers the same 384 shader cores and 64 Bit memory bus manufactured in 14 nm. The GP108 chip is manufactured in a 14 nm FinFET process at Samsung (LPP) and offers a number of new features, including support for DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR and improved H. 265 video de- and encoding (PlayReady 3.0).
What does the NVIDIA MX150 replace? The NVIDIA GeForce MX150 with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM is primarily intended to replace the GeForce 940MX, which can still be commonly found in many laptops. In general, the new discrete GPU is about 25 percent more powerful than the older model.
GTX 660 satisfies 91% minimum and 77% recommended requirements of all games known to us. GeForce MX150 satisfies 82% minimum and 69% recommended requirements of all games known to us.
The MX150, a mobile variant of the GT 1030, is Nvidia's current low-end dedicated GPU for laptops. It is meant to provide boosted graphical capabilities superior to those of an integrated GPU.

The MX series is technically separate from GeForce GTX and RTX series. These cards are considered an entry-level discrete option for multimedia playback. The first MX cards launched in 2017 with Maxwell and Pascal GPUs, while the 2019 MX200 series were all GP108 Pascal-based.
Yes, laptop with i7 and GTX 1060 will also be best for CAD and gaming but I thought that CAD is your first priority and gaming is the second.
Quadro cards simply have more computational muscle than GeForce cards. One specific component worth pointing out is graphical memory. Quadro cards have a lot more memory than GeForce cards, which can be a huge advantage in professional workflows.
The GPU of the laptop is also one of the best for AutoCAD. It has the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU serving a high-speed GDDR6 memory of 6GB. The RAM and storage departments of the laptop are strong enough as the laptop gives the users having 16GB of DDR4 high-speed RAM, working at a frequency of 3200MHz.
AutoCAD (including Mental Ray rendering) is actually fairly light on RAM requirements and Autodesk only recommends 8GB of RAM. However, given the relatively low cost of RAM - and the fact that most users tend to have more than just AutoCAD running on their system - we feel that 16GB is a great starting point.
