Since delivery rates can depend on restaurant pricing, sales tax, and extra fees, there's some debate on which food delivery app is cheapest. However, a Marketwatch study compared identical orders on a few food delivery apps and found that Uber Eats was among the cheapest.

It's possible that the closer Subways don't have the GrubHub service set up. To quickly summarize, Grubhub is more widely available than DoorDash and Grubhub+ is an overall better deal than DashPass, assuming you don't have the Cash App debit card. However, when it comes to user-friendliness and features, DoorDash's app looks and feels much better than Grubhub's.
Usually under 5 miles from restaurant to delivery address. If I am delivering in one of the more suburban areas I've had deliveries up to 29 miles from my location to the restaurant to the drop off.

Unfortunately, like any food delivery service, availability and the delivery fare is completely dependent on your location and where the restaurant is located. In some cases, you might get a message saying that a certain eatery doesn't deliver to you if you're out of zone.

With DoorDash you might try to get work for 4 hours and make $14 total on two jobs. It's slower than Skip by far but Skip has way more drivers so even when it's “busy” it's not that busy. With Skip you can get as many as 10-14 jobs in 4 hours but they might all be under $7 so you're running your ass off for $50-80.
Base pay from DoorDash to Dashers ranges from $2-$10+ per delivery depending on the estimated duration, distance, and desirability of the order. Deliveries that are expected to take more time, that require Dashers to travel a longer distance, and that are less popular with Dashers have higher base pay.

Since it all occurs without your restaurant's consent, Grubhub can't charge you the steep commissions it levies on partnered restaurants (which, by the way, it plans on increasing). Instead, your customers end up paying Grubhub high prices to cover all the costs.
Grubhub is launching a new subscription program for its customers that will cost $9.99 per month. The Grubhub+ program offers unlimited free delivery and 10% cash back. Most food delivery services already have their own subscription programs, but customers are not flocking to pay a monthly fee.
Grubhub has controlled roughly 30 percent of the market over the past three years, according to Second Measure, while Uber Eats and DoorDash are both on the rise. It was a close call, but Uber Eats comes out on top as my pick for best meal delivery app.

When tipping on Grubhub, the tip money goes straight to the delivery drivers, as it should. Some orders may include an additional “delivery fee”, but this is not a tip – drivers do not receive this money – so make sure not to deduct this charge from your tip amount.
There you'll see that, before tip, GrubHub averaged slightly cheaper than DoorDash with DashPass (but the numbers are so close as to be basically identical). However, if you tend to tip in cash or pick your own tip, the results show that GrubHub and DoorDash with DashPass are the best (and are roughly equal).
