From the initial DPS classes, Archer/Bard is the easiest in my opinion. Out of the melee range DPS, I'd say Lancer/Dragoon. For healer, the only one available at level 1 is Conjurer/White Mage. It's the simplest one to learn healing with!
Least popular: Dark Knight, White Mage, Machinist, Monk.
Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn – How to Pick the Best Class
- Arcanist. The Arcanist is the most versatile class in the bunch because it's the only class that serves two purposes.
- Archer. As the name suggests, an Archer is a ranged DPS class.
- Conjurer. A Conjurer is the only primary healer at the beginning of the game.
- Gladiator.
- Lancer.
- Marauder.
- Pugilist.
- Thaumaturge.
Overall Machinist is a more common dps but that feels really great in FFXIV. Once you get your big robot and few last spells the rotation get even better. It's just a very nice and chill job. While Bard damage can feel a bit frustrating it is still a very accessible job that will let you relax and help your team.
Short answer: Gunbreaker is relatively easy once you settle into it. Long answer: You will have a fairly decent grasp of it by level 80 just from running dungeons on it.
its pretty much mind numbingly easy unless you are doing savage/extreme tier content and even then its just a matter of memorization from youtube videos and simon says. Game doesn't even start until level 80.
Guild. The Conjurer's Guild is in Old Gridania. If you choose conjurer as your first class, you will start off in the city of Gridania. At level 30, conjurers may specialize into white mage.
Players start as an Archer, and then may upgrade to Bard using the Soul Crystal obtained from the quest "A Song of Bards and Bowmen" after Archer reaches level 30 and completing the quests "Sylph-management" and "The One that Got Away."
Unlocking BRD:First and foremost you need to have a Level 30 Archer, and have completed the L30 ARC class quest, “The One That Got Away”. After doing this you can unlock the actual quest to become a Bard, “A Song of Bards and Bowmen” which is issued by the Archer guildmaster Luciane in Gridania – New Gridania.
Once you're level 10, go to the Rogue's Guild in Limsa Lominsa. You can pick up a quest there to become a rogue.
There are two ways to unlock the Bard in FF14. The first is to simply start the game as the Archer class. This is the level 1-29 equivalent of the Bard — and will be able to upgrade to the full Job at level 30.

Bard, its the easiest. Gives you mobility while still being able to dps. (which is the hardest part of a melee/caster is figuring out WHEN to use your skills for max dps) while as bard its a little less important because you can dodge and still dps.
Bards can greatly improve the party's performance with offensive buffs such as Mage's Ballad (increases damage dealt), Army's Paeon and Battle Voice (increases direct hit rate), and The Wanderer's Minuet (increases critical hit rate). Meanwhile, Bards also offer useful defensive utilities.
The first thing to understand about Arcanist is what you are actually capable of, which is a bit more complex than with some other classes. You're not a healer, but you do have the option to heal. You're not pure DPS compared to a Thaumaturge, but you can pump out some damage.
It is worth noting that your choice of FFXIV race doesn't matter too much outside of looking cool or cute, though this is a very important aspect to some. Without further ado, here is everything you need to know about the different FFXIV races from lore to height comparisons and everything in between.
The FFXIV jobs are:
- Monk.
- Bard.
- Ninja.
- Black Mage.
- Dragoon.
- Summoner.
- White Mage.
- Scholar.
The Dark Knight is the true “pick up and play” tank in FFXIV. The flashy, edgy warrior of darkness only has one damage combo for single— targets (plus a two-hit combo for groups, like everybody else). Most of the rest of their damage comes passively.
Yes it is, because in addition to healing you're also doing damage when there's no significant damage to be healed. Having played all the healers to level 80: All healers have a basic single target spam ability for damage, one DoT, and one AoE that they get around level 45.
Dragoon is extremely fun, always in demand at end game raiding, and one of the highest DPS outputting classes in the game. It's actually really good.
Paladin is a lot more straightforward. It has a fun DPS rotation that feels very smooth, but it's still relatively simple. In terms of actual tanking cooldowns, all the tanks have been homogenized to the point where they all have equivalent cooldowns, so they're all plenty capable there.

All the classes are great. Although some of them are quite slow until higher levels when their kit opens up, so don't get discouraged. Black Mage is the classic mage boom boom explosion with great damage. Both are good, watch the job actions on youtube, it shows some skills of all jobs.
