If you must file other schedules and statements with your return, sort them from lowest to highest using the attachment sequence number. You can find this in the upper right corner of the form. The W-2 is the form your employer sends to you each January reporting your wages & withholding. The form 1040 is your tax return you file.

During tax year 2018 Adjustments to Income were listed on Schedule 1 Lines 23 through 33 and attached to Form 1040. During the 2019 tax year, Adjustments to Income are listed on Schedule 1 lines 10 through 20 and will be attached to Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR.
So it's perfectly fine to send your return without w2. If IRS need any info, they will send a letter. Otherwise you will be fine. No need to panic or do anything at this point of time.
In addition to getting the postmark, it's generally a good idea to send your tax return via first-class mail. If you want added assurance, send it certified mail, return receipt requested. Also double check the postage you need.
Staple all your forms and schedules together in the upper left corner. Find the federal copy of each form and staple them to the front of your 1040 in the income section. Only staple these forms to the first page of your 1040 – do not allow your staple to go through all the forms in your return.
The "Do not attach" simply means don't physically include them when you send in your return, as the IRS already has that information or doesn't need that information. You still need to report the income, however, so you will need to file an amended return if you didn't include this income in your original return.
Yes, you can fold your return to put it in an envelope. When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2's or any 1099's. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return.
According to this site, if you need to staple mail, clips and staples “should be inserted into the envelope so that the clip or staple is placed in the lower right hand corner and the envelope should be sealed and marked 'Hand Stamp' by the originating office.”
There are no specific standards. You should, however, use an envelope which is approved for sending mail by the United States Postal Service. For small returns, a standard business-class envelope is usually acceptable.
