Although Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews have remained lifelong friends, Plummer apparently hated working with her on the movie. “It was like being hit over the head with a big Valentine's Day card, every day,” he said.
SIMON: Of course, we couldn't resist playing "Edelweiss," either. A number of listeners wrote in to point out that Christopher Plummer doesn't really sing in "The Sound of Music" - although, of course, he'd played Captain Von Trapp. PLUMMER: They did for the long passages.
