Lake Havasu has an estimated 19,000 surface acres and over 300 miles of shoreline. With that comes many coves and beaches for camping overnight. Many of our guests find their cove or beach and set up for the duration.
Lake Havasu State Park has a large designated swimming area located at the day use beach covered with beautiful white sand, but swimming is allowed along the shoreline. Safety is always our biggest concern, so before you head into the water, here are some tips to help keep you safe.

Boating on Lake Havasu is incredibly popular, both during the day and at night. But there's no reason why boating after sundown can't be safe and super fun.
It is legal to ride in the back of a truck in AZ. It is NOT legal to ride in the boat while being towed.
The Colorado River at Ruby-Horsethief Canyon is considered a navigable waterway, so U.S. Coast Guard regulations apply. There are no restrictions for engine use, boat size or speed; you'll see everything from kayaks, canoes and rafts to personal watercraft, jet boats and fishing boats.
All of the boat ramps in Lake Havasu City remain open as part of the essential function to provide outdoor recreation to residents per the governor's stay-at-home order issued Monday.
Two-stroke PWCs are permitted in areas such as the Colorado River south of Davis Dam, Lake Havasu and other recreation areas managed by other federal, state and local agencies.
