As per the official website of EPFO, all offices of the organization follows the five days in a week working pattern. So Saturday and Sunday are the holidays for all EPFO employees including Assistant and Social Security Assistant SSA.
After few days, It gets approved either by your employer or EPFO. Once, it gets approved you would see the new bank account number in the approved KYC section. Typically It takes 7 days for the Bank account details updation. However, in some cases It can take upto one month.
EPFO has introduced online request functionality to EPF members for correction in name, DOB, and gender. Using new online request functionality, EPF members can give online correction request and then the employer can online forward the correction request to concerned EPFO office.
– Answer is POSSIBLE. There are many instances where two UAN numbers have been allotted by EPFO through two different employers/establishments. If you do not provide your existing UAN, a new UAN can be generated by your new employer which results in duplicate UAN numbers being allotted to the same EPF member.

Change Name in UAN
- Step: 1 – Login to Unified Portal. The users should log on to the EPF account using their UAN and password at:

UAN activated members may know their latest PF contribution and balance available with EPFO by sending an SMS at 7738299899 from registered mobile number. The member has to SMS "EPFOHO UAN" to 7738299899.
How To Correct EPF Name And Other Personal Details Online?
- Log on to EPFO's unified portal.
- Once logged in, click on "Manage" and select "modify basic details."
- On the modification page, enter your Aadhaar number in the slot provided.
- You will now be able to view "pending requests" on the UAN portal.
Essential documents for changing name in a bank account
- Copy of the marriage certificate from the office of the marriage registrar.

Yes, date of joining in your EPF can be changed. You need to submit a joint declaration form in your regional PF office after getting it attested from the authorized signatory of your organization. Also your organization has to submit updated Form No. 5 data in PF office which consist your date of joining.
The process to correct
EPF details are to submit the application through your
employer.
Fill only those columns which need to be corrected.
- Name.
- Name of the father or the husband.
- PF or EPS account numbers.
- Date of birth.
- Date of joining organisation.
- Date of leaving organisation.
Click on "START YOUR INCOME-TAX RETURN" card available in the home page. On member's page, click on the three vertical dots available right in front of the name which you want to correct and select the edit option from the drop-down given. A face-box will open, correct the details as required and click on 'SUBMIT'.
No option on income tax website for name correction
Income Tax website doesn't allow the user to change name or date of birth. If you visit 'My Profile' under 'Profile Settings' tab on income tax website, you'll find that Name and Date of Birth can are locked for editing, hence they cannot be changed.Procedure to Change Name Online
Go to the official website of EPFO and login to your EPF account with you UAN number, mobile number registered with it and password. In case you do not have an active UAN account, you have to initiate an online request via the EPF UAN Helpdesk portal.To update an EPF member's name & Date of Birth, the EPFO has launched a new online provision. Name Correction due to Marriage
If you change your surname in your bank records or office records, it is mandatory that you make the same change in the EPF database. Along with the specific form to make the change, you are required to provide a copy of the marriage certificate as well.Visit the EPFO branch and fill in the 'Aadhaar Seeding Application Form' Carefully fill in the requested aadhaar card number and UAN details. Submit the application form with the self-attested copies of your PAN, UAN and Aadhaar card. Post verification, your aadhaar card will be linked to your EPF account.

How to Change/Update Date of Birth(DOB) in the EPF UAN Portal by Online
- Go to UAN Portal and Login in with your USERID & Password.
- Once you have logged in, Click on Manage and then Click on Modify Basic Details.
- Enter the Name you want to update in the UAN on the right side and then Click on “Update”
Linking Aadhaar with Your EPF Account Online
- Visit the EPFO website
- Login to your account using your UAN and password.

Without an Aadhaar Card
Download the forms (Form 19, Form 31 and Form 10C) from the EPFO's member portal. Next, fill in the details and get an attestation from a credible authority, such as - a Gazetted officer, magistrate, member of the EPFO, or manager of the bank you hold your salary account with.Please follow the below step for Aadhar correction.
- Please visit EPFO website Member Home.
- login to your account with your UAN AND PASSWORD.
- Click on MANAGE >KYC.
- Select Aadhar option and enter your Aadhar number and name as per your Aadhar card.
