Besides his late grandfather Corky, Luke McMillin's champion family members include his brother Daniel McMillin, his dad Mark McMillin, his uncle Scott McMillin, and his cousins Andy McMillin and Jessica McMillin. 1967: The Mexican 1000In June 1967, Pearlman and group left Tijuana and immediately ran into mechanical troubles. This trip inspired Pearlman to organize an off-road race down the Baja peninsula by creating the National Off-Road Racing Association (NORRA).

Traditionally the Baja 1000 has started in Ensenada and ended in La Paz making the race course a straight shot down the peninsula, but it has also been run as a loop race that starts and ends in Northern Baja.
Although any truck that meets the safety standards can race the trophy truck class, they, for the most part, feature long travel suspensions and high power engines. They are intended for desert racing only, and are not street legal.

Entry fees range from around $2,500-$5,000 depending on the class and event. But that is just the entry fee, to run a successful race will cost tens of thousands of dollars. Buying or building a proper race car, spare tires, chase vehicles, crew, hotels, fuel, it all adds up really fast.

Technically speaking, the word "prerunner" refers to a vehicle that is used to pre-run an off-road racecourse. Most racers have a separate vehicle, similar in build to their race vehicle, that they use to scout the condition of the course prior to the race.

~16 is the minimum age to race, as long as you can get a signed Minor Waiver (with parent's present at race registration) or get a NOTARIZED Minor Waiver (if parents will not be present at race registration). Without that waiver you must be 18 years old.
SCORE Class 10 is an open-wheel limited motor class that competes in the SCORE off-road race series including the Baja 1000, Baja 500, Baja Sur 500, San Felipe 250 and the SCORE Desert Challenge. Four-wheel single and two-seat vehicles less than 2200cc in size. No production bodied vehicles are allowed in this class.
