Tumblr Can Identify You
These tracking techniques apply to Tumblr members and people who simply visit a Tumblr page. Although most tracking methods cannot identify you as an individual, Tumblr can determine who you are if you have an account. Tumblr notes that this information may personally identify you.To reply to an Ask question message from a specific user privately, click the paper and pencil icon below the question in your Tumblr Inbox, type your reply and then select the “Answer Privately” option. Since anonymous questions don't link to a specific person, you can only reply publicly to them.
If you want to find someone on Tumblr, you can search for the person's email address. Enter an email address on Tumblr's Following page, and it displays any blogs associated with that address.
To check who views your blog's main page, you can use a visitor tracking system such as Google Analytics; any such system will, however, have the opposite issue -- it won't track visits by followers who view your blog through the Tumblr dashboard.
