Before you tap UPLOAD, you'll see a grey square grid (SPLIT ICON) on the bottom right corner of the image (the icon to the left of the multi-post icon). Tap on SPLIT ICON to see 6 different splitting options. Step 2: Play around with the 6 splitting options to see which style you prefer by tapping on each!
To split your images, use one of these tools:9square for Instagram — This app for Android devices lets you crop photos into grids and post them directly to Instagram. ImageSplitter — This is a free website where you can upload a photo, choose the appropriate grid, and download a zip file with the component tiles.
Select multiple photosTap on the “Select multiple” button at the top right corner. Then, select your photos.
The reasons why your pictures aren't posting on Instagram may be because your internet is down. Make sure your data or Wi-Fi network icon can be seen at the top of your screen. If you can't see it then head over settings. If you had Wi-Fi on when trying to post the pictures then try using your cellular data.
Below are some reasons why Instagram might be deleting your posts: Your posts do not follow community guidelines. You have not verified your email address linked to your account. Accounts can get flagged by Instagram's algorithm if there is a dramatic change in posting frequency.
Selecting multiple photos
- In the main Instagram feed screen, tap the + icon.
- Tap Library, in the lower-left corner of the screen.
- Swipe in the thumbnail photos, and then tap the first photo you want to add.
- Tap the select multiple icon.
- Tap another thumbnail.
- Continue tapping thumbnails as needed.
To get started, go to App Store if you're an iOS user and Google Play Store if you're an Android user. After installing, launch the app to get started. From here, select your desired template for your Instagram story. Then, tap the “+” icon to upload the photos you want to include for your story.
While you can post to Instagram from a desktop PC using developer tools within your browser, there is no way to upload multiple photos at once using this method. If you want to upload an image gallery using your web browser, you will have to use a third-party service to do it.
Instagram has recorded that you 'saw' the first image already and displays the second one. This can happen if you refresh the feed or if you scrolled past the picture in the discover feed. At least that's the trend that I've noticed.
Tap the icon of your most recent photo in the bottom-left of your screen to pull up your camera roll. 3. Tap the "SELECT MULTIPLE" button with the overlapping square icon in the top-right of the screen to select multiple photos. Select the photos that you'd like to add to your story.
Posting Multiple Photos With the Facebook App
- Tap the Facebook app to open it.
- In the status field at the top of the News Feed, tap Photo.
- Tap the thumbnails of the photos you want to add to the status.
- Use the Done button to open the preview screen.

Then drag it to the left or right. On the next screen, enter your caption as you normally would. If you tap on the image thumbnail while writing the caption, you can scroll through the slideshow and tag users in individual images. Generally speaking, your vertical photos should have an aspect ratio of 4:5. Anything longer (like 4:6 or 4:7), and Instagram will crop your content. As for size, we recommend going with 1080px by 1350px. That way, when Instagram compresses the photo, it should be displayed at around 480px by 600px.
Instagram normally limits portrait photos to roughly the size of your screen. The glitch appears to have only worked on iOS. To make it work, you basically just created or saved an extra-long image, then opened up Instagram's photo picker and selected it. The app seems to have failed to properly crop them.

Post Portrait Photos on Instagram
- Open Instagram and create a new post.
- Select the image from your collection.
- Select the small crop icon in the bottom left of the main image screen.
- Adjust the image within the grid until it's how you like it.
