It is also very easy to control the spread of vetiver grass as it propagates by root division or slips and is easily removed when no longer required [4]. Currently the extraction of vetiver oil is mostly done using conventional methods such as hydrodistillation, steam distillation and solvent extraction [5].

How to Make Vetiver Water (Khus Water) from Vetiver Roots!
- This is dried vetiver root and you can get it very easily anywhere in India.
- Take a clay pot, wash it and place the vetiver bundle inside the pot.
- Fill the pot with boiled, cooled water.
- After 3 to 4 hrs, slice a lemon into thin slices and add them to the pot.
Here's the ideal way to use them – in an earthen pot, add clean drinking water, and place the vetiver roots inside. Cover and let the roots steep into the water for a few hours. Strain, and then drink up.
