HeartCode® BLS Online is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner's performance.
When will I receive my card? Students paying for their class in advance (day before scheduled date) will have their card emailed to them the same day (except for holidays). Students paying onsite or day of class will have their ecards emailed to them within 48 hours.
Can you renew BLS/CPR online? You can definitely complete your BLS recertification online. In fact, that's the whole reason we're here and you're reading this! Our courses are offered in an entirely online format and are based on the most current emergency cardiovascular care guidelines as published by the AHA.
What if my CPR certification is already expired? If your certification is more than 30 days expired, you are no longer eligible to take a renewal or challenge course, but rather will need to take a full certification course again either in-person or online.
Basic life support courses are typically more in-depth and complex and are based on working in teams with other professional rescuers in the medical field, whereas CPR training teaches you the essentials about performing the CPR technique on a family member or co worker as a single rescuer.
All of National CPR Foundation's Certification Courses are Nationally & Internationally Accepted. Since we're based in the U.S. and follow the AHA and ECC/ILCOR (the U.S. Standard) our National and International acceptance rate is exceptionally high, at 99.7%.
An eCard is the electronic equivalent of a printed course completion card and can be provided to students as an alternative to a printed card. eCards are valid course completion cards and can be presented to employers as proof of successful completion of an AHA course.

Q: Is BLS included in the ACLS Course? A: No, BLS is not included in AHA's ACLS courses. However, it is expected that healthcare providers taking an ACLS course come to class already proficient in BLS skills. View our courses or Find an AHA Training Center near you.
eCard information can only be altered by the TCC or AHA Customer Service using the AHA's secure eCards tool. eCards can also be verified by employers at to prove issuance by a valid Training Center and Instructor aligned with that Training Center.
Generally speaking, if you already have a solid understanding of ACLS certification coursework and want to tackle it as quickly as possible, you could potentially become certified in a span of 1-2 hours. If you're not as familiar, it could take closer to 4 or 5 hours.
