The way around this, is to click the pull-down menu on the top right hand corner of the post. There you will see an option to “save post”. Once you have saved this post, you can click on the link to your saved posts and there you will have the option to share the post to your timeline.
It's possible that your friend has adjusted her privacy settings to prevent anyone but her from posting on her timeline. People can see her timeline, but cannot comment on anything she's posted. This is likely the case if, while viewing her timeline, you see only content she's posted herself.
If they have it set to Friends of Friends or Public then your friends (and all other friends of friends) will be able to see it as well. You can check the privacy icon on other posts from others on their Timeline to see how they have it set, since there is only one setting for all posts from others.
Post Via Your Wall
Type the name of the friend whose wall you wish to post on in the search box located at the top of any page. Click the name of the Facebook member from the resulting drop-down list to view his Timeline.
