If you accidentally overexpose a photo with your digital camera, you can easily fix it with a duplicate layer and the proper blend mode. As long as none of the overexposed highlights are completely blown out to white, you can save the image.

In both programs you have the “Image > Adjustment > Shadows / Highlights” option. This process makes it very easy to adjust your mid tones and dark tones without overly brightening your lighter areas. Be careful though, since sometimes this gives images an artificial HDR look when using the default settings.
Exposure refers to the brightness of an image. If you don't get the exposure right, your photo will either be too bright (over-exposed) or too dark (under-exposed). If the photo is under-exposed, it will lack detail in the shadows (dark areas). And the highlights (bright areas) may appear dull.
Way 1.Correct the Exposure Level
- Use auto enhancement. Auto enhance photos with light and color correction.
- Adjust exposure for better quality. If needed, move the Exposure slider to the right to make the image lighter or to the left to darken it.
- Modify the chosen photo areas.
- Take care of white balance.
Even though auto brightness is on by default, it's pretty easy to switch it off or reset it—and your eyes will thank you. ??On Android: Settings > Display > Tap the slider next to Adaptive brightness and switch it to the off position. Then, adjust the brightness bar until you've reached your desired level of brightness.
Twilight is another well-known app to reduce screen brightness on your smartphone. Using sunrise and sunset times as indicators, Twilight automatically adjusts the screen temperature (how much blue light is emitted) to lessen disruption of your circadian rhythms.
Darken a specific area of an image
- Do one of the following: Choose Tools > Retouch > Darken (from the Tools menu at the top of your screen).
- In the Tool Options pane, customize the Darken tool:
- Select a tonal range to darken:
- Brush over the area of your image you'd like to darken.
Dust and debris could keep your phone from charging properly. Wait until the batteries die completely and the phone shuts down and then recharge the phone, and restart it after it's fully charged. If there is a critical system error causing the black screen, this should get your phone working again.
How to adjust your Android's display brightness
- Open the Settings app.
- Choose Display.
- Choose Brightness Level. This item might not appear in some Settings apps. Instead, you immediately see the Brightness slider.
- Adjust the slider to set the touchscreen's intensity.
If your phone's brightness turns down automatically, go to the device settings, and search for display settings. Look for brightness settings or the Auto brightness option and disable it to prevent your phone from lowering the brightness automatically.
