Firstly, check that the Netflix settings aren't inhibiting the content from streaming in HD. Ensure that the Smart TV or device you're streaming Netflix on is capable of HD output. Android devices may have more difficulty in streaming in HD as it doesn't seem that HD is supported for many models.
If you're seeing video that is blurry, fuzzy, or undefined, you may have a weak or unstable connection to the internet. Follow the troubleshooting steps for your device below to resolve the issue.
Netflix will automatically provide you with access to the 4K streams if you're fulfilling the criteria above, e.g. 4K TV, full subscription, supporting app or streaming device. We've found Apple TV 4K to be a great experience.

While 4K offers more pixels, HDR offers pixels with greater depth. In real terms, on HDR screens, thatmeans brighter highlights, more detail in dark scenes, and a wider color range meant to more accurately depict the real world.

To check the resolution of the Netflix video, press the Display button.. NOTE: If the resolution is lower than 4K when the Display button is pressed, wait for a few moments for the Internet speed to slowly increase and begin playing at a higher resolution. This is part of the normal operation of the application.
Most TV remotes feature an info button that, when pressed, will display a quick readout of the resolution that your TV is currently outputting. If you see anything other than 3840 x 2160, it means the content you are watching is being output in proper 4K.
