Click the phone control menu and select Use my computer for calls. You'll also see any audio devices that are currently in use. To change your audio device, click Audio Options and select a speaker or microphone, then click OK. Plug in your headset or other audio device to the appropriate USB port.

Cisco Jabber™ for Android is a collaboration application that provides presence, instant messaging (IM), cloud messaging, voice and video calling, voicemail capabilities on Android phone, tablet and Android Wear devices.
1. DiagnosticsContent – This HTML file is the Jabber Diagnostics tool output at the time of problem report creation. This information can be viewed in the client by pressing Ctrl+Shift+D.
Steps
- Enter a username. Use the bar next to "Username" to enter your username.
- Select a suffix (if available). The format for a Jabber address is (i.e. ).
- Enter your password and confirm it.
- Verify that you are a person.
- Click Register.
Go to Options > Calls and turn on Mute audio by default for Jabber calls. The Calls tab is only available if you have set up Phone Services in your Accounts tab. Go to Preferences > Calls and turn on Mute audio by default for Jabber calls.
How can I read the troubleshooting logs for Cisco Jabber for iOS?
- Download iTools or iFunbox (Windows/Mac).
- Start iTools or iFunbox to connect iPhone/iPad through USB.
- Navigate to the Logs folder: Jabber > Library > Application Support > Logs.
- Copy the log files to your local computer.
CCMCIP stands for "Cisco CallManager Cisco Ip Phone service". This is a service running on Cisco CallManager (CUCM) servers. This service provides a HTTP interface for external applications (such as Cisco Phone Designer, Cisco Click2Call widget, etc.) to retrieve phone configuration from CUCM.
Delete cache
- Jabber menu > Empty Cache.
- A warning window will be produced, alerting you to the information to be cleared from cache. Click Empty to proceed.
- This event will log the user off of Jabber and exit the application.
From the main Jabber screen, select the Chat bubble icon. At the very top of the contant list, select Clear to delete your chat history for all chats.
You can reset your account password if you forget it or want to change it. Do one of the following: Open the Jabber Video application and click Forgot Password. If you you set the option to sign in to Jabber Video automatically, you first need to click the Settings icon > Sign Out to return to the sign in screen.
Cisco Jabber: install and set up
- Connect your Android device to an on-campus Wi-Fi network.
- On your device, tap App Store.
- Search for Jabber.
- Tap to install the Jabber app.
- If prompted for app permissions, tap Accept.
- Tap Open.
- The End User License Agreement opens.
- The Cisco Jabber screen opens.
Install Jabber on an iOS Device
- On your iOS device, get the Cisco Jabber app.
- Tap Get and then Install.
- Sign in to the iTunes Store if you are prompted to do so and then tap OK.
- When the app has finished installing, tap Open.
- When the message to allow Jabber to access your contacts displays, tap OK.

Installation
- Download Cisco Jabber for Windows.
- Double-click the downloaded CiscoJabberSetup<version number>.
- Read the notices and disclaimers and then click Accept and Install.
- You may have to wait for Cisco Jabber to be installed.
- Click Yes to allow Jabber to install software on your computer.

Configure Cisco Jabber in Softphone Mode
- Add a Cisco Unified CSF device.
- Name has no restrictions, so you do not have to use CSFNAME.
- Add the user as owner of the device, and set the primary phone.
- Add the DN, and associate a user with the line.
- Device will register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager using SIP.
The Softphone mode is simply an additional feature of the Cisco Jabber service. Using the softphone feature, you can use your computer to place and receive calls and video calls directly from your computer with no need for a physical desk phone. The softphone feature is available on PC, Mac, and mobile devices.

7. Private Messages. Private messages are IMs that you send to your friends at the jabber.org service or at other XMPP-based services on the Internet. If your messages are sent through other services then it is possible that those services can log your messages, and we do not have control over those services.
Easy enough
- exit Jabber.
- Navigate to C:usersusernameAppDataLocalCiscoUnified CommunicationsJabberCSFHistory and find your database file []
- Right click on file and select "Restore previous versions"
- restore the most recent database file available back to the above directory.
- restart Jabber.
It's in UsersusernameAppDataLocalCiscoUnified CommunicationsJabberCSFHistory and is a DB file.
In Jabber, go to Preferences > Chats and then check Save chat sessions to "Cisco Jabber Chats" folder in Microsoft Outlook.
To save the Jabber chat history between users, please follow the steps below: Right-click in the chat window. Select the Save Chat. Name your chat session and select Save.
Files received through Cisco Jabber are stored locally. Customers manage and dispose of files as they see fit. Customers may periodically wish to review and purge files. On Cisco Jabber for Windows, files are received to MyJabberFiles, located in the Chat archive location specified in Chat settings.
Instant Message EncryptionCisco Jabber uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) traffic over the network between the client and server. Cisco Jabber encrypts point to point instant messages.
Cisco Jabber: How to Join a Chat Room
- Sign in to Cisco Jabber with your NetID and password.
- Click on Chat Rooms.
- Click on All Rooms.
- Scroll down until you find the chat room you want to join.
- Click on the Join button.
