UPS shipments are generally delivered within one to two business days.
UPS and FedEx both work on standard business days (Monday-Friday), and do not deliver on Saturday (unless Saturday delivery is specified) or Sunday. Please do not include the day that your package ships when calculating delivery days in transit.
For domestic delivery within the US, the express shipping time can be as fast as same-day or next-day delivery through USPS expedited shipping services such as USPS Priority Express and Priority Domestic. Tracking and insurance are usually offered with express shipping services.
UPS Ground packages are generally delivered anytime Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (and sometimes later) to residences, and to business addresses during their normal business hours Monday through Friday.
If you need freight delivered within a strict time frame, then yes, expedited shipping is worth the cost. Regardless of size, all shipments can be expedited when there is urgency involved.
Customers are usually advised to allow up to 24 hours for their shipment's UPS tracking number to be logged by the carrier. If your shipment's UPS tracking is not updating, it could be that the package is yet to be picked up by the courier or that it has been picked up but yet to be scanned.
You only need to sign for packages in certain areas or when it's required by the sender. UPS My ChoiceTM members can sign online for eligible packages before a scheduled delivery. Or, if you prefer, you can redirect the package to another location where someone can sign on your behalf.
expedited is NOT first class, you are paying for a faster delivery and guaranteed delivery than first class. Expedited shipping is a delivery promise, NOT a method of shipment. It doesn't matter HOW you get the package to the buyer, but WHEN. And BTW, Priority Mai offers no delivery guarantee.
FedEx overnight shippingOften the most expensive of the three carriers, FedEx also offers three US overnight delivery options in the US (from most to least expensive): FedEx First Overnight: The fastest option.
Priority Mail Express® overnight service has competitive prices and fast delivery every day, all year, with limited exceptions, to most U.S. addresses and PO Boxes™3. Priority Mail Express Flat Rate® lets you ship packages up to 70 lbs to any state at the same price.
Why Choose FedEx Ground? FedEx Ground is faster to more locations than UPS Ground. Deliveries take between 1–5 days, with most packages arriving within 3 business days.
UPS. UPS Express Critical provides urgent and same-day delivery options for lightweight and heavyweight shipments around the globe. UPS uses everything from air shipping to vehicle transport to hand carry to deliver on time.
First-Class Mail:Letters that weigh under 1oz: the cheapest option is a USPS First-Class Postage Stamp. Large envelopes that weigh less than 13 ounces: USPS First-Class Mail is the cheapest option. Keep in mind, this service is designed for letters, documents, and thin-flat items.

FedEx Priority Overnight® Next-business-day delivery by 10:30 a.m. to U.S. businesses, noon to most residences and by noon, 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. to some rural or remote areas.
How late does UPS deliver? Other than time-definite air deliveries, shipments are generally delivered anytime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (and sometimes later) to residences, and by close of business for commercial addresses. UPS cannot schedule a specific delivery time within that window.

UPS will never deliver a package if it happens to arrive in town early. They will hold it until the scheduled delivery date.
Sometimes packages are delayed or rerouted because of unusual circumstances. Before contacting us, please check the mail delivery standards, USPS Tracking® page (if available), and/or contact the shipper for further information on your expected mail.
Why? Your package is still within the UPS network and, unless otherwise noted, should be delivered on the scheduled delivery date. Shipment movement information is captured each time a tracking label is scanned in the UPS delivery system.
With the exception of early overnight delivery, FedEx shipping still has the cheaper retail rates overall, and they happen to have more services for this example. If you use Easyship, UPS still has the cheaper rates, especially if you're looking for Ground services.
