To enable it, just pick up your phone and press “*77.” You should hear three short beeps to let you know it's activated, and then you can hang up. After that, all calls that come in as Anonymous, Private (a favorite of robocallers), or Blocked won't get through.
Enter your Xfinity ID and password. Click the Settings (wheel) icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings to see your Voice preferences. Select Call Blocking. In the Anonymous Calls Rejection (ACR) section, select the Block all anonymous calls box.
To block your number from being displayed temporarily for a specific call:
- Enter *67.
- Enter the number you wish to call (including area code).
- Tap Call. The words "Private," "Anonymous," or some other indicator will appear on the recipient's phone instead of your mobile number.
How to block unknown calls on your Android
- Tap the phone icon on your Android, which is usually at the bottom of the home screen.
- Tap the three dots at the top of the Phone app screen.
- Tap "Settings" in the dropdown menu.
- Tap "Block numbers" and then toggle the button beside "Block unknown callers" to green.
How to Block Incoming Calls on Android
- Open the main Phone app from your home screen.
- Tap the Android settings/option button to bring up the available options.
- Tap 'Call settings'.
- Tap 'Call rejection'.
- Tap 'Auto reject mode' to temporarily reject all incoming numbers.
- Tap Auto Reject List to open the list.
- Input the number you would like to block.
Scroll to SETTINGS. Select NOTIFICATIONS then CALLER ID. Then select ALERT DISPLAY and enable the feature.
Go to Account overview > My digital phone. Select My voicemail & phone features > Phone Features. Select Caller ID on TV. Select On or Off.
Temporarily block your numberActually, it's more like *67 (star 67) and it's free. Dial that code before the phone number, and it will temporarily deactivate caller ID. On the receiving end, caller ID will usually display “private number” because it has been blocked.
Call forwarding is disabled by dialing *73. This feature requires a subscription from the telephone company. Also available in some areas is Remote Access to call forwarding, which permit the control over call forwarding from telephones other than the subscriber's telephone.
This Vertical Service Code, *82, enables calling line identification regardless of subscriber preference, dialed to unblock withheld numbers (private callers) in the U.S. on a per-call basis.
To block future calls from the last number, dial *97. To manage or modify your Selective Call Rejection list, dial *60.
Android Lollipop
- From the Home screen, tap Phone.
- Tap MORE.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Call rejection.
- Tap Auto reject list.
- Tap the minus sign next to the number.
To block a number: Press #, dial the 10-digit number you want to add, and press # to confirm. To unblock a number: Press *, dial the 10-digit number you wish to remove, and press * to confirm. Enter *67 and then the number you want to block from seeing your caller ID info.
Here we go:
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the three-dot icon (top-right corner).
- Select “Call Settings.”
- Select “Reject Calls.”
- Tap the “+” button and add the numbers you want to block.
How to Unblock Calls on Comcast Phones
- Listen for a dial tone before attempting to dial. If you have a dial tone, you can begin.
- Type in *82 into your keypad on the phone receiver to unblock your call.
- Listen for a second dial tone. When you hear it, you can dial the number you want to call.
Call Block, otherwise known as Call Screening, is a feature that allows you to block calls from up to 10 phone numbers within your local calling area for a low monthly rate. Turn on: Press *60. If prompted, press 3 to turn the feature on.
Just like the iPhone, you can turn off Caller ID for all calls on Android if your carrier allows it. To disable it, go to Settings -> Phone -> Call Settings -> Additional Settings -> Caller ID.
How to block the caller ID on an iPhone permanently
- Open your iPhone's Settings app.
- Scroll down to the Phone tab and tap it. Open the "Phone" tab in your settings. Steven John/Business Insider.
- Tap the "Show My Caller ID" tab.
- Toggle the button my "Show My Caller ID" off (so it's white instead of green).
To block your number on Android:
- Open the Phone app, and open the Menu.
- Select Settings, then Call settings.
- Click on Additional settings, then Caller ID.
- Choose “Hide number” and your number will be hidden.
Follow the following steps:
- Open the phone app on your device. This is the app you use to call others.
- Tap on the three dots in the top right corner and select “Settings”.
- Open “Call Settings”.
- Select the SIM card you're currently using.
- Go to “additional settings”.
- Tap on “Caller ID”.
- Select “Hide Number”.
This error commonly occurs when you transfer the number you were using on your old phone over to your current phone. Your phone in this case will list your current number as 'unknown' rather than incorrectly present the number originally assigned to the SIM card.
Hiding your Caller ID
- From the home screen, tap Phone.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down and tap More Settings.
- Tap Show My Caller ID.
- Tap your caller ID preference.
- You can also hide your number for a single call by entering #31# before the number you wish to dial.
Android DevicesOpen the Phone app, and tap More > Call Settings > Call Rejection: Next, tap Auto reject list: Now, toggle the Unknown option On: N.B. If your Android smartphone does not include an option to block unknown numbers, you can also download and install call blocking apps from the list below.
How it Works
- Press the Menu button twice on your Comcast remote to launch the Main Menu.
- Navigate to the Interactive TV bar on the Main Menu.
- Press the OK/Select button on your remote control.
- Highlight Notifications, then press OK.
- Highlight the Caller ID option.
How to turn on caller ID
- To display the caller's identity on your phone's call screen, dial *234#.
- To check whether your phone is set to display the caller's identity, dial *#234#.
- To hide the caller's identity on your phone's call screen, dial #234#.
- Note:
If your Caller ID unit does not display correctly, or not at all, try to reset it by completely unplugging and powering down the unit. Then plug it back in and power it back up.
Edit Contact Name
- Go to the Users tab in My Account (If prompted, sign in with your Xfinity ID and password).
- Click the user who you'd like to change the contact name for.
- Click Edit Name, next to the user's name.
- Enter the first and last name, then click Save.
Add or Change Phone Numbers on Your Account
- Go to the Settings tab (you may be asked to sign in using your Xfinity ID and password).
- Find the Contact Information section and select Edit next to the account phone number section.
- If there's no mobile number listed, select Add a verified mobile phone number.
- Enter your mobile phone number, and select Continue.

Use Xfinity Connect
- Go to Xfinity.com and click the Menu button.
- Select the Voice icon in the drop-down list.
- Enter your primary Xfinity ID and password.
- Within the Voice tab, click Call History on the left-navigation menu and your call history will display.
