Add a new account quickly
- Select Outlook > Preferences > Account.
- Click the plus (+) sign > New Account.
- Type your email address > Continue.
- Type your password > Add Account.
You are allowed to have as many accounts as you want, and Gmail make it easy to simultaneously sign in to multiple accounts. If you have more than one Google Account, you can sign in to multiple accounts at once. Your accounts have separate settings, but in some cases, settings from your default account might apply.
Gmail allows access to its IMAP and POP mail servers so you can set up the email software on your computer or mobile device to work with the service. Most premium and some free email applications offer both IMAP and POP email compatibility, while other free email programs may offer only the POP email service.
To add your Microsoft® Office 365 or Exchange ActiveSync account to Gmail:
- Open your device's Settings app. Tap Accounts. If you can't see 'Accounts', tap Users & accounts.
- At the bottom, tap Add account.
- Tap Exchange.
- Enter your Microsoft® Office 365 or Exchange ActiveSync email and credentials.
Currently, you are allowed to create up to four accounts using the same computer system or phone number.
If you can't add Gmail account to Outlook 2019/ 2016 / 2013 / 2010 / 2007 / 2003, then you must ensure the following settings are enabled in Gmail account before starting the method. Open your Gmail profile in the browser. Next, click on the Gear drop-down button. Select the Settings from the resultant list.
How to Enable IMAP/POP3/SMTP for Gmail Account
- Go to the "Settings", e.g. click on the "Gears" icon and select "Settings".
- Click on "Forwarding and POP/IMAP".
- Enable "IMAP Access" and/or "POP Download"
Android (native Android email client)
- Select your email address, and under Advanced Settings, click Server Settings.
- You'll then be brought to your Android's Server Settings screen, where you can access your server information.
Enter the following server information:
- Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com.
- Incoming Port: 993.
- Incoming Encryption method: SSL/TLS.
- Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com.
- Outgoing Port: 465.
- Outgoing Encryption method: SSL/TLS.
Outlook provides multiple ways to track down what users are looking for, whether its search, folders, categories, sort emails in inbox, search folders, etc. With Gmail, users do not have a way to sort email by size, date or sender and are stuck with just one thing – search!
Outlook is certainly used by more folks as part of the 'Office 365 suite' vs. Gmail as part of the 'Google Workspace suite' (Formerly 'G Suite') but the single criteria '…more professional…' is not, in my opinion, a sufficient differentiator. Even in the lesser (e.g. free) versions available at 'Outlook.
Outlook is Microsoft's premium email client and is regarded as one of the best in the business. While the Windows Mail app may just do the job for daily or weekly email checking, Outlook is for those who rely on email. As well as the powerful email client, Microsoft has packed in calendar, contacts and task support.
Using Gmail as Microsoft Account provides you with the same privileges as available to those using Outlook, Hotmail or Live.com email addresses. Once you get a Microsoft Account using Gmail, you will be able to Login to your computer using Gmail, make purchases and download Apps from the Windows Store.
