Do Instagram videos have to be square? For many years, the square was the only video ratio you could share on Instagram. But times they are a-changin' and now you don't have to make all your IG videos square. You can shoot and upload them in square, vertical or horizontal aspect ratios.
How to fit a TikTok video on Instagram
- Select a TikTok video. To resize a video right from TikTok, just open it in a browser and copy the link.
- Edit the visuals. Choose a preset for the social media you need – in our case it will be Instagram.
- Save the resized clip.
Instagram will allow you to display your video with a 16:9 widescreen ratio or with a square 1:1 ratio. That means Instagram can display the video at 16:9 (1920 x 1080) or 1:1 (1080 x 1080). In reality, Instagram will automatically adjust the video size for the type of device.
- Seek Clipchamp.com in your Google Chrome browser. Open your browser and go to clipchamp.com and log in with your Google, Facebook or email and password.
- Prefer from among choices the file you want to compress.
- Compress videos for Instagram.
- Edit the videos visual appearance.
- Publish your compressed video.
You can post videos to your feed or your story, and you can also privately send videos through direct message. In each case, you will have the option to post an existing video from your library or record a new one using the Instagram app.
Step 1: Download a video editor app like CutStory for Instagram. Step 2: Record your video on your phone. Step 3: Open the video in the app from your camera roll and slice up your video into equal 15-second clips. Step 4: Open Instagram Stories and select the clips from your camera roll and upload each one.
Try restarting the Instagram app. Make sure you fully force close the existing instance of the app, otherwise “closing” it and re-opening it won't actually close it. Sometimes it takes a fresh open to reset whatever glitch was causing an issue. Try restarting your phone.
While the IGTV icon will be gone from the top right corner of the main Instagram app, users can still access the IGTV content on the app by tapping on the bottom left corner of a post in their feeds. The IGTV icon is now gone from the main screen.
When you have turned your 4K videos into Instagram compatible videos, you then only need to upload the converted 4K videos to Instagram. To upload a video from your phone's library, tap Library (iPhone) or Gallery (Android) at the bottom of the screen and select the video you'd like to share.
The optimal sizes are 1080 pixels wide by 566 pixels to 1350 pixels high. The maximum Instagram resolution is 1080 pixels wide. Un-square shapes were added for Instagram ads. You can post a landscape image in a 1.91 to 1 aspect ratio, which is exactly the same as a Facebook link preview image.
Video LengthVideos must be at least one minute long. The maximum length your video can be is: 15 minutes when uploading from a mobile device. 60 minutes when uploading from the web.
To post multiple different photos or videos with different sizes on Instagram, you need to use a tool to resize them first. To avoid cropping out content, add a white background to make each photo or video in to a square. Then, you can post the album without cropping out or changing the size of your image.
