The Inspire doesn't have built-in GPS, which means the Ionic smartwatch is the only Fitbit that can be used without a phone to track outdoor runs and bike rides. That information is synced to the Fitbit app, which is still one of my favorite fitness-tracking apps.
From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile. Tap the exercise you want to edit or delete. To edit the exercise, tap the pencil icon. To edit the type of exercise (for example, to change a walk to a hike), choose a different exercise type and confirm your change.
Your Fitbit uses a three-axis accelerometer to count how many steps you take each day, converting recorded motion into reviewable data. Fitbits are often less accurate in tracking distance travelled and calories burned, but the step counter is considered reliable.
When you return home, simply sync Ionic with the Fitbit app to see a map of your route on your phone. Not only do you not need your phone to buy things while wearing Ionic, but you don't need your wallet either.
Note that Fitbit does not track your location unless you are recording an exercise or activity with GPS.
An average person has a stride length of approximately 2.1 to 2.5 feet. That means that it takes over 2,000 steps to walk one mile; and 10,000 steps would be almost 5 miles. A sedentary person may only average 1,000 to 3,000 steps a day. For these people adding steps has many health benefits.
These on-line distance calculators are pretty accurate. Make sure to put it on the highest magnification. It's very easy to not run perfect straight lines and hit all the apex's just right, so, yeah, it's not as accurate as dragging a measuring wheel with you, but for all intents and purposes, plenty accurate.
So when it comes to accurately measuring your activity, it appears that Fitbit is good for counting steps, might need some help when it comes to measuring distance, and is not particularly reliable for counting calories burned. But for the Fitbit to be useful, accuracy isn't enough. You have to actually use it.
One of the very first running apps on the scene, and one of the most popular even still, is the MapMyRun App. Runners like it because it keeps track of time and distance when you are outside running the roads and trails. It is great if you are running new-to-you trails and do not know how far they go.
Map Pedometer is a Google Maps Pedometer which allows you to calculate distance traveled for running, walking, cycling, or other activities. By marking points along the Google map, the google pedometer / map pedometer feature will compute the distance of your route. Route distance is displayed in miles or kilometers.

If you want to track as much information as possible about your run, then the Fitbit Surge is the way to go. The GPS will not only tell you the distance you've traveled in a day, but will also map your running route as you go.
The current Fitbit integration with MapMyRun is really not practical for what most users of mapmyrun actually use. MapMyRun is primarily used as a place to track the actual runs a person runs and the other features of MapMyRun and MyFitnessPal all work off this basic functionality.
Map my run is more accurate from my experience. There's a 960m wheel measured dirt loop that I frequently do intervals on. MMR slightly over estimates the distance at . 99 km, while my garmin 220 typically measures it around .
Calories are determined by age, height, weight, gender, the intensity of the workout, distance traveled, and activity type. Heart rate does not currently factor into the equation. Our products calculate total burn, which includes caloric burn for both resting and active phases of activity.

Map My Walk
MapMyWalk is part of the MapMyFitness family of apps. It has stood the test of time and deserves first consideration for any fitness walker. As you walk, you can see the elapsed time, distance, pace, speed, elevation, and calories burned. In terms of functionality, there is no difference between the MapMy apps. The main difference between the free MapMy apps and sites is that each is catered toward an individual audience and will provide a default activity type, as well as nearby and recommended maps based on that app's user base.

Though it doesn't have built-in GPS on its own, if you already usually take your smartphone with you on your runs and bike rides anyway, the Fitbit Charge 3 will still be able to gather GPS data from your device and — like the Ionic — show real-time pace and distance information on its face.
You most definitely can map your run in the official app with a Charge 2.

Use the Fitbit Widget on iOS. Based on your goals, the achievement rate is displayed as a graph, and the data for one week is also graphically drawn. You can add up to 3 widgets and select different information for each. Share your workout information with your friends via iMessage.
