He is rushed to the hospital, but later dies. The team of course is crushed and start plans for his funeral.

The death is the bad guy, The Chameleon, who we've been chasing all season. And he dies in our beloved jet, which has basically been a character for 324 episodes. I mean, it's major. Dr. Spencer Reid is one of the lead "profilers" for the FBI's behavioral analysis unit, or the BAU. Reid has Asperger's and a family history of schizophrenia, therefore affecting his behavior on the show.
