The United States does not formally recognize dual citizenship. However, it also has not taken any stand against it, either legally or politically. Typically, no American will forfeit his or her citizenship by undertaking the responsibilities of citizenship in another country.

The general rule of thumb for dual nationals going to one of their countries is enter and exit on that country's passport. Double Taxation
The United States imposes taxes on its citizens for income earned anywhere in the world. If you are a dual citizen living abroad, you might owe taxes both to the United States and to the country where the income was earned. Answer: China does not recognize dual nationality. The Article 3 of China Nationality Law holds that the country will not admit the dual nationality of a Chinese citizen.
It would be better to ask if the US “allows” triple citizenship. The answer to that is yes, they do. US citizens are not prohibited by the US from having more than one citizenship. They only recognize their own citizenship in that they treat such a person the same way that they treat any of their citizens.
The U.S. does recognize dual nationality in the sense that holding another country's passport will not lead to revocation of U.S. citizenship. China does not recognize dual nationality for Chinese citizens. A Chinese citizen who acquires foreign citizenship of his own free will automatically lose Chinese citizenship.
If you are a foreign national permanent resident of Hong Kong you can consider, if you so desire, applying for a HKSAR passport, usually if your present country of origin does not offer you a convenient means to travel, needing visas for most any place that you might like to visit on a regular basis.
To apply for an APRC, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Have lived in Taiwan for five years and have been in the country for at least 183 days each year.
- The spouse or children of a national must have valid household registration in Taiwan and have been in the ROC legally for ten years.
Although Taiwan permits dual citizenship for ORDINARY citizens, they expect you to give up your other citizenship if you want to hold a position in their government above certain job grade. The U.S. does NOT RECOGNIZE dual citizenship, but it PERMITS it.
