Luckily, the dev did tell us how to add immortality. The parameter "immortal = yes". The funny part was that he left out that it would default your age to the youngest age possible. As a result, your character would end up being a child physically even if their age is set to 35 or something.
Education traitsIn Crusader Kings III, characters that reach adulthood (16 years old) gain an education trait. This is tied to a particular stat they'll be good at, plus XP bonuses for the associated Lifestyle. Education traits also have levels.

Paradox Interactive's convention, PDXCON, kicks off very shortly, and to celebrate the publisher is offering Crusader Kings 2 for free on Steam. It's not a limited time demo, so if you grab the game from now until (presumably) the end of PDXCON on October 20, you'll get to keep it forever.
I can't say I'd specifically recommend playing CK2 without any DLC. If you can only afford a couple of expansions, it's well worth the investment - especially in cases like Way of Life or Conclave. But even without any expansions, you can still scheme against your rivals.
The Old Gods, one of the game's expansions, can be nabbed for free just by signing up to the Crusader Kings newsletter. You'll need to sign up and give them an email address, but the code will be sent to your inbox, giving you access to the much-loved fourth expansion, which first released in 2013.
It's not that terribly hard to learn. You can grasp the basics in a day, though you'll keep learning about new stuff you knew nothing about for a long time afterwards. Just play the learning scenario the game will offer you when you first start it up and keep reading all the tooltips and you'll be fine.
The reason behind it is: their games have too many DLCs, and to buy a whole game pack would be prohibitively expensive. The article says that, for example, all of Crusader Kings 2 DLCs would cost over 300 USD. That's a lot for an eight-year-old game. “But man, you don't have to buy everything!
The Crusader Kings 2 system requirements ask for a minimum CPU equivalent to an Intel Pentium 4 2.40GHz. However, the recommended CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo or better. The minimum graphics card you can CK2 it on is equivalent to an ATI Radeon X1900. Crusader Kings 2 will run on PC system with Windows 7 and upwards.
Playing multiplayer with other people (whether friends or strangers) is a great way to enhance the game or make it more challenging. While players don't need to have the same DLC, all players must have the same mods enabled (or lack thereof), or else you will not be able to join each other's games.

Paradox Interactive has not confirmed a Crusader Kings 3 PS4/PS5 release.
