How to Check your RC Status Online
- Visit parivahan.gov.in.
- Under the "Online Services" tab, you will find an option called "Know your vehicle details".
- You will be asked to enter your vehicle registration number.
- You will now see your RC status.
Drivers are encouraged to request a free temporary extension card via the DMV website, which you can print and keep with you, should you find yourself in a situation where a valid ID is required. DMV says the temporary card is optional.

Offline steps to apply for a duplicate DL
- Visit the RTO office that issued your original driving license. File the LLD form and attach all documents mentioned.
- Pay a required nominal fee to get your duplicate driving license.
- The duplicate driving license will be sent to your registered home address via post.

Can I drive straight away after passing my test? Yes. Although it could take up to three weeks for you to receive your updated photocard in the post, you don't need to wait for it to arrive before you drive. As long as your car is taxed and insured, you're good to go.
