Re: Substitute a CR2016 with CR2025 possible? The 2016 is 20mm in diameter and 1.6mm thick. The 2025 is 20mm in diameter and 2.5mm thick. The added thickness of the 2025 would prevent it from fitting properly in the watches you mention.

Putting the thicker battery into a holder designed for the smaller one may damage the holder and make it incapable of being used for the proper sized battery. The CR 1616 is rated for 50 mA. The CR 1620 is rated for 60 mA. If you replace the thinner battery with the thicker one, it will last 20% longer.
No they are not interchangeable. The 2016 is thinner than the 2032. Agree - stacking 2 CR 2016 batts will deliver 6 V to your device and not the 3 V that a single CR 2032 did. If you stack two CR2016 batteries they will indeed fit in place of one CR2032 battery, but they will be providing 6 volts instead of 3.
Capacity wise, the CR2032 can provide 240 mAh (miliamp-hours), while the CR2016 has a capacity of 90 mAh. The CR2032 is thicker but has more capacity. The CR2025 is thinner but has less capacity. They are the same battery, with the same chemistry.
